Quick seimitsu button question

Having some siemitsus for my madcats TE ordered as a B-day present from someone and just had a quick question between the PS-14-KN and PS-14-GN buttons available on LL.

Besides the “clear” look, are there any noticeable differences between them? I noticed someone mentioned in the comments on LL that the GN buttons don’t have the same “hollow” sound the KN buttons produce.

Has anyone used both and can maybe elaborate a bit on them? Do this mean one model sounds more “solid” than the other? (which is basically what I’d want I suppose)

Yes it may be a silly question but figured it never hurts to ask anyways and I didn’t see anything regarding this in any of the other massive button threads.

Any input is appreciated. Either going with 6 smoke KNs or 6 black GNs + a Hand Candy slate black balltop. (I like that they are a touch bigger than the sanwa/seimitsu balltops and seamless is a big seller for me on those)

lizard lick is not doing regular business anymore. they just hold your money for months till you ask for a refund.

you can get your buttons from one of these fine retailers.

I will let someone else comment on the sound of the buttons

The point of this thread was not for people to bitch about their “pre-order status” gripes. Like we don’t have enough of this whiny crap on the front page we have to deal with it in the forums too?

I’ve had no issues with any of my previous orders at LL, and I won’t order from the others mentioned where the shipping costs more than the actual item being ordered.

So… anyone else have a constructive response please?

They are exactly the same shape and design wise. Having disassembled and owning both of them. If there is a sound difference, it would be due to the difference in clear plastic vs. opaque, but I do not notice this. You should go for the Seimitsu K’s because snap ins are better for the TE. After slamming on the buttons for a few hours, the nuts eventually tend to loosen.

Good luck ordering with Lizardlick, they have closed the store to catch up with orders, so you cannot order with them for the time being. Could be days, weeks, months until they open up again, nobody knows.

videogamesnewyork.com has free shipping on all seimitsu parts and I always get my stuff in 2 days! lizardlick is closed. just giving you the heads up so you don’t waste your time and money. if you think this is whiny crap then you got it twisted.

My apologies Tiger :D. So used to the “usual” on this site, lol. Didn’t notice the closed message on their main page.I’ll look at vgny

Ty for the input rtd. Was going for the screw-ins for two reasons. 1) Will eventually be getting a plexi for my custom art on the stick and figured screw-ins would be the better choice once I have that, plus my current sanwa snap-ins fell victim to those little nubs flattening out, and they spin loosely in the plate now. 2) According to the chart on this page: http://slagcoin.com/joystick/attributes_brands.html the Ks have a lighter tension while the KNs have a stiffer medium tension and a deeper engage distance which is what I’m looking for. Figured a little bit of lock-tite on the nuts would keep them from loosening.

Things I think about is twisting off the nuts might make little scratches on the under side if you care. Snap ins be carefull when putting them in. The plexy can break nerrow area between the buttons. I think snap ins look better like clear ice. Screw ins are not so clear cuz of the nut and threading. If your stick is transparent this does not matter.
