I’ll be going to Japan for a week at the end of the month with a few Singaporean players. We’re hoping to take part in the Japan National Tournament and basically to just play the top Japanese players as much as possible. It’s been confirmed that TKD will be there so I’m hoping to set up another interview with him, just as my compatriot Yagami did when he visited Japan last year.
When you were starting off learning El Fuerte against the computer in the arcade is there anything special you did to aid in your Daipan loop practice? For example when playing M.Bison (boxer) he will release a Turn Around Punch (TAP) often preventing you from RSFing, focusing, messes up jump ins, etc…
TL:DR
When you were first learning El Fuerte’s loops (specifically standing lk) how did you practice in the arcade?
This is very much appreciated! TKD is so cool using El Fuerte!
My questions:
El Fuerte combo’s using light- and medium attacks are so hard to link, but it seems so easy for you.
How did you get the timing right and did you go through a lot of frustration while learning to time it right?
Great questions guys, keep em coming. I’ll try to do a video interview and provide a transcript for ya’ll too if possble.
Any match ups you’d like to ask him about as well? I’m definitely gonna ask his opinion about the Rufus, Honda and Abel ones (reacting to f.mk pressure etc). Let me know if you have any match specific stuff you wanna find out too.
He mentioned that he hasn’t in Yagami’s interview but i’ll check again. lol. gonna make the dude pose with a tortilla or some shit.
I know he plays in arcade mostly, but is he fimiliar with the console characters matchups? If so, it would be great if he can give some tips for the Seth matchup, in particular regarding defense against his pressure. Regarding arcade characters, Rufus and Honda for sure, and some tips on zangief also.
Thanks a lot man, and make sure you bring him a tortilla in case he doesn’t bring one, I NEED to see him posing with it XD
nah you guys ain’t too late… there’s still a week or so before I leave so keep those great questions coming.
And thanks for the well wishes too. Appreciate it ya’ll.
For the record i’ll be in Japan from the 30th to the 5th of April. Gonna be taking part in the Japanese National Tournament on the 3rd as well as the weekly TRF and some side tournaments so yeah, really looking forward to sharing whatever tips and tricks i pick up with the rest of the international Fuerte community when I get back…
I’m actually going to be in Japan starting from the 26th also. We should definitely meet up. I plan to level up my game and report back any findings over here as well.
