Question to Magnetro

i just saw your variable atmoshphere clips at preppy’s site. i just wanna ask if the proper way of mashing supers or just mashing for just about anything are just pressing two buttons like you did in the clip of sent with capcom where sent does an insane chip damage from his super or that was just applicable in that situation with that character?

this is prob the information you are looking for. i posted this a while ago in the newbie thread, but dunno if it’s still there or it got wiped out when this forum got wiped out at one point. anyway…

mash spiral throw/cyclops qcf+pp/ hail storm/etc: just mash the 4 hit buttons with bottom of fist. just be careful not to switch out when you’re done.

mash AHVB: just mash punch buttons. wiggle stick as long as you don’t ‘lose’ your opponent

mash to escape hypergrav: wiggle stick strictly left/right and mash buttons with bottom of fist the moment the screen freezes, not earlier or after. be prepared to block immediately after you break out, esp in the corner.

mash headcrush: take 2nd and 3rd finger of right hand, 2nd and 3rd finger of left hand, and place on the 4 buttons (left hand fingers on LP and LK, right hand fingers on HP and HK). alternate between HP/HK and LP/LK on each hand and you’ll get 8 hits from full screen or corner throw (top of jugg’s head).

Joo’s site has some chart that lists which buttons are active for mashing during each of the mashable moves, pretty helpful. And regarding that Sent clip: I’m pretty sure you need a programmable pad/the touch of God to mash for that many hits.

Wait until you see the crazy hail storm chip somebody got at Ohio during the tournament. I can’t even chip that much with Tron’s HK drill. (And then the next match Potter did Hail Storm and got NO chip. That super is pretty random.)

yeah, that happened to me too. i mashed as much as i can with hail and no, as in zero damage.

anyone, how can i change the title of this thread? i’d like to change it to “Everything about mashing…” since it led to, me knowing everything about mashing/mashables. And i’d love to share it to everyone.

i’ve seen hail hit and do anywhere from 5% life to 90%(vs weak stamina).

one time i launched my opponents psylocke then did sj fp(10% or so), next time my opp called her out, one hail and it killed her.

anyone notice how hail seems to have random pattern but sometimes the rock “waves” overlap perfectly to connect for waaay too many hits? I see it most often at mid sj height on storms side of the screen…

one more fun randumb note:

i have sent/cap vs sent/storm

opponent does hsf and i sj fly and go for rocket punch as he does HSF

Amazingly my rocket punch makes contact, subtracts the damage, doesn’t cause any kind of impact vs sentinel whatsoever. No hitstun, no slowing him down:xeye:

i assume that because the game forgot to tell him he had been punched in the face, he went ahead and dhc’ed into storm.

^ ive seen wierd scenarios like that with HSF. I think it might have something to do with a glitch in super armor + screen freeze from the super. Maybe the screen freeze framekill allowed him to DHC before sent went into the “I got punched in the face” animation.
