Question for owners of a HRAP V3 SA kai

Recently I have decided to buy a stick, this one specifically as I can pick in up at a local shop rather then need to pay shipping online.

But there is one thing I’d like to know before I commit to the purchase, will it work on my PC as well.

I have looked online and found a lot of fuzzy information that has not been helpful.

I’ve read the HRAP V3 SA is PC compatible in a lot of places, and it stands to reason the revision should also work, as I doubt they changed the PCB just to space the button a little further apart. But I have read at least one thread on steam where someone was complaining of being unable to get a kai version working on pc.

Additionally I have have read a few things saying that the V3 SA works on a 32bit OS, but not 64 bit(which mine is).

A few have people asked this same question various places and got “it should” as a reply, but nothing as concrete as " I own this, and it does"

I e-mailed Hori and got the safe, vague, form letter response you would expect “We can only guarantee that it will work on the designated system”

Can anybody that personally owns this stick in question tell me conclusively if it works on a Win7 64bit PC?

While I’ll admit that I don’t personally own that stick, I’ve modded it for some clients and it works just fine for PC.

Just for the record, you are asserting that, from your personal experience the PS3 HRAP V3 SA “kai” is fully functional on a Win& 64bit OS PC?

On another note, since you have opened one, can you tell me how hard it is to put in an octogate? I have read for some sticks its a simple unscrew and swap. but some require drilling holes and getting longer screws.

Also I invite any other people who own this stick to reinforce FreedomGundam assertion, so as to further set my mind at ease

Yes, it is fully functional on a Win7 64-bit PC. All modern Hori sticks will work just fine on PC. They won’t tell you that because they can’t officially guarantee/support that, but they do work. Just go and buy the stick.

Putting in an Octogate is no different than putting in an Octogate on any other JLF. Loosen the tabs, remove the Square gate, snap in the Octogate. There’s a gazillion videos on YouTube showing this.

Drilling holes and putting in screws is never needed for a simple gate-swap. It is only needed in installing a JLF in an unconventional (and usually non-recommended) method.

well I have never swapped the gate on a stick before, I just know from a very brief prior experience with a stick(long story) i really disliked the standard square one. If its just simple mechanical steps, I know I can manage that. I just dont own a drill, so that would be an unwanted hassle.

I have this stick and it works 100% on my shitty PC. I’m running windows 7 atm and no probs at all. I too am going to change the gate on mine. Plenty of youtube clips onhow to.
Gonna fart around with a circle & octo to see if there is any major difference.
