When it comes to picking a main, perhaps the most common advice is to pick a character you like. Makes a lot of sense, but I was wondering: is there a time where it does not work? I do not mean situations where a character is so badly balanced as to be unplayable, that is a different problem. Simply, would a character you like always be the right choice, or could you make a choice that is wrong for you? Can there be a situation where a character’s design and a player’s natural inclinations are so irreconcilable that the player could never hope to play them effectively? Alternatively, if you like a character enough, would you grow as a player until you and that character were a perfect fit?
some characters just dont suit your hands or mind as well as other characters. This doesnt really mean that you can go farther if you choose the character that best suits your individual gifts. It just means it could take a little longer to progress, and you may have more roadblocks along the way. If you practice and truly like your character, in 99% of cases, you can still take your character far. Though of course, if they are utter trash characters, you have to know that even if you can go far, youre still going to lose unfairly a lot. I dont think theres any more to be said here really. Just use your common sense and go forth
