Sorry if I’m posting this in the wrong area, but I couldn’t really find any information about this topic anywhere else. In several videos, I’ve seen players dashing behind the other player when they’re quick rising. I wish I could post them, but I honestly don’t remember which videos I saw them in.
I was wondering if anyone can tell me if this is a character specific thing? I’ve been in training mode for a while now. I literally dash forward like a retard after every dragon punch, but I still can’t seem to get behind the other character as they’re quick rising.
Yeah, it’s character specific. You can do it to Twelve, Alex, Ibuki, Urien, Dudley, Hugo, and Necro. I think there are more but those are the only ones I know of.
Its near/at the end of the quick roll. I think you can do it to most but its been a while and I like the easier corner cross over. Mid screen version is too risky for me.
I know characters with a fast and long dash like Ryu can dash through Urien in the corner if he rolls, it’s not even too hard, you can almost just mash dash at the right moment and you’ll go through. Great for confusing your opponent.
You can just mash dash for the most part and still cross up, but if you wanna be more precise, just dash the moment they start the roll animation (and make sure you’re right next to them).
Chun can as well in the corner vs characters who you could normally dash cross up if they quick stand. If they don’t quick stand the timing is more strict.
It’s kind of funny that American 3s doesn’t have this type of info readily available to look up already. maybe I’ll compile a list and people can add on if I miss any.
Mami: I’m not sure If I know the dash cross ups for mak that aren’t on quick stand.
shotos can walk through quickrising necro in the corner. been a while since i’ve seen the setup but it might be backthrow, dash once, walk through. although cornering yourself against characters like necro, dudley, and urien does seem like a stupid thing to do from a more macro perspective once the novelty of it wears off.
sometimes you can just dash right through certain moves also.
it’s very disorienting. you just pop out the other side.
like if you dash at makoto during hayate but before it is hitting, sometimes you will just go through her. i’ve had this happen with just standard normals too though.
specifically yun far fierce. as remy i just went through him during startup. i’m assuming it has something to do with how far the pushbox moves in a single frame for both characters. so on the next frame they’re intersecting but it pops them out of each other on the nearest side. which most of the time means the side you’re dashing towards. because right before yun hits with the punch, he leans really far forward very quickly.
Easy American 3s is weak… with online only making it weaker for the most part.
I am pretty sure I have randomly dashed though a non quick rising Elena and I believe Chun mid screen. I do not seem to recall it being any useful though.
