Question about arcade machine monitors

I recently purchased a 32-inch 1080p monitor for my PS4 Pro with the hopes of capturing the experience of LCD arcade cabinets from the mid to late 2000s. I just have some questions regarding monitors, since my newly-purchased monitor (even after tweaking and testing various settings) doesn’t really seem up to par when comparing it to the Namco Noir, Taito Vewlix, or Sega Lindbergh cabs (or similar).

The blacks on my monitor are too black (even on RGB Limited), even when set at near the correct gamma (2.2). The arcade cabinets I have played on are not only easier on the eyes (less bright) but the blacks are not too dark and can be seen well. They are also more versatile in different lighting conditions. In the dark they are very easy on the eyes and during the day they are not too dim and have great color in both circumstances.

Ultimately I guess my question is, how can a new monitor purchased now in 2018 not seem to hit the “sweet spot” that these 10-year-old cabinets were able to achieve? Shouldn’t most monitors purchased today have more solid all-around viewing quality than a monitor from 2007 (e.g. Namco Noir)?

Thanks for your input!

You can’t. not with any desirable results.

The PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch is designed for Digital HDMI out to a HD Display.

For good displays, I can point you to sites like displaylag.com that gives you the video delay in ms.
As for the Brightness you need to cross reference sites like display lag with other reviews
