Hey there,
I recently just bought my first fightstick ever (Qanba Q1) and really enjoyed playing with it so far. The only problem I really had so far was that I didnt like the buttons that came with the stick. It is too mushy and easy to click. I play Tekken 7 currently, and after opening the stick up I figured it wouldnt be hard to swap the buttons out for something better and not as mushy as these. My question is, should I put in new Seimitsu buttons (the PS-15 Low Profiles) inside or Sanwa Buttons instead? What do you guys suggest to do?
You should ask small questions like these in the Q&A thread next time.
Seimitsus have a marginally higher operating force than Sanwas so if your problem is that the buttons are too sensitive then either Seimitsus or OBS-MX with Black switches would be your best bet.
I wasn’t too sure where to post this, next time I’ll be sure to use the other thread.
Was looking at the OBS-MX switches and it seems they’re all out of stock. So about the Seimitsus, would you know which ones are the best to use? I see a lot of different models, and I wasnt to sure what the difference is between them
You need to use Sanwa buttons. It says so in the description of the product you linked: “We are proud to introduce the OBS-MX Cherry modification for an Sanwa OBSF or OBSC.”
You could try making a WTB thread in the trading outlet to see if someone will let go of sanwa rims for cheap since the rims are the only part you need from the sanwa buttons.
I found the housings for $1 on the PAS. I might order these but will I encounter the same problem as this guy: https://www.reddit.com/r/Fighters/comments/460wx3/pas_obsmx_question_is_this_normal/
He said he tried installing them in the q1 and the wires on the bottom would keep registering as a hit. Not too sure if he did something wrong or if its an easy fix
Well a guy in that thread gave a good workaround. I’ll give you one too though. Similar to that issue, my Dreamcast stick, the Seimitsu LS-32 I have in it is too long and would scrape the bottom of the case when I tried to move the stick. I put a pringles can top near the stick where the bottom case connects to the top case and it provides just enough “clearance” too keep the stick from scraping the bottom of the case. Even with the case screwed on completely. You’d have to be clever and find something like this (the guy in that thread mentions washers) to force enough clearance around the buttons so the bottom of the case doesn’t touch the buttons so much. Good luck @Sweglord
