so bought this stick second hand, but only shounlder buttons work. x,square,O, triangle dont work. anyone encounter this problem?
You need to open up your stick and take a look inside.
If this is a scary prospect for you, you might want to consider getting someone else do trouble shoot and repair this for you.
Agreed with @darksakul.
It could be as simple as unconnected cables, or maybe someone soldered something they shouldn’t of for some weird reason. Without pictures of the inside, it’s hard to start trying to guess what to at least check for.
*Side note, I don’t believe those sticks are that old, so if you are scared of opening it up and don’t have anyone nearby to help, I’d assume you could reach out to eightarc and see if there is some standard maintenance / warranty it falls under. Might have to go through a bit to get a ticket number opened and pay to ship it out to them and fix it (as long as it isn’t physical damage), even if it is second hand.

Didn’t this stick just come out like a few months ago? How was it acquired used? Or do you mean you got it for a discount from some random seller on ebay or from a tournament meet?
50% chance it’s a disconnected or loose cable or jumper block somewhere. My SFxT X360 madcatz stick was like that; one wire molex was slightly loose…just to push it in.
