Honestly. I think the belief that good players can block 90% of fse is rubbish. That’s also saying that good players can block 90% of your attacks without fse on. If that’s the case you have no chance of winning.
Fse should enhance your game, not detract. If you’ve taken half his life with fse off, you should be able to break through his defense with it on.
Fse is a no risk ultra with a high reward for breaking through defense. It’s actually a guarantee if you think about it. Everytime you earn fse you can activate. With Kaiden… You might not get the chance.
Something i found while playing online, took it to training mode to investigate further, thought id do a vid for fun and include the OS U2 which i found awhile back for the crack too.
OS U2 setup:
In the corner
Forward Throw
Neutral Jump
Light Punch
Neutral Jump Hard Kick
OS U2
Anything you want after
I find it easier to do if you do the OS like this
qcf + qcf + HardKick + Ultra button
Its not quite a plink but rather its a relatively fast double button press.
edit: also momochi gets schooled by some Juri
around 0:33, interesting juggle there, anti-air mid fireball juggle into a low fireball release. prolly saving meter i guess.
1:57. so all fireball releases on hit cause the opponent to become airborne? or is it just RAW fireballs? so would u be able to do a raw low/mid fireball release into U2 in the corner for example?
2:00, Juri crossed up with j.hk mid-screen :amazed:. havent done that b4 so i found that interesting.
Interesting use of close st.hp for frame trapping. Looks pretty unsafe but that’s probably why it works. I’ll try to experiment with it.
6IJoxPUtocQ&feature=player_embedded#at=17]YouTube - WeirdoNeo [Juri] vs Jazdero [Ibuki
begining of match - nice AA bait. How to turn an unsafe jump into a nice punish lol. I’ve seen that a few times already. I’m definitly gonna try to implement that in my game.
1:10 - That’s why pinwheel sucks vs vortex.
1:39 - Sucker! Last thing you expect when Juri is in FSE is a throw.
EDIT: And as a bonus, this is how you should NOT play Juri lol:
But seriously aggressive Kens ca be intimidating! I’ve played some really good Kens before. So I know how tough it is to deal with kara throw, shoryuken, overhead and ex tatsu pressure. I never seem to guess right. And also I’m always scared to apply pressure (damn you flowchart srk spammers for conditioning my mind!)
The st.hp frame trap u talk about is like 1st month juri shenanigans, ur abit late to the party, you dont need to test it in training mode. Its still punishable even when u try and frame trap it with Ex pinwheel or even try to make it safe with a Ex counter.
The divekick AA bait is also fundamental knowledge other characters like Akuma, Rufus, Cammy, Gen, Viper, they all do the same thing with different moves.
Everything is old man. Even your vids are old info so there’s no need to remind people.
st.hp xx pinwheel trap might be “1st month shenanigans” but I’ve never actually seen it in a match. At first I tought he just messed up, but the fact that he used it twice and he got counter hits both of the time got me interested.
Though after looking at frame data I’m pretty sure it’s a very bad and unsafe tactic. Might surprise people sometimes but still very punishable like you said.
All jokes and self promoting aside it’s an incredibly unsafe frame trap. It works on people who don’t know the match up and have poor reactions.
Sc hp xx pinwheel > Kara throw is a setup I use a lot. I use it on wake up often.
Kd. Empty jump > sc hp.
Catches jump attempts and some back dashes. Can also lead to ex pin jiggle or super. If blocked I lk pinwheel. If that’s blocked I Kara throw.
I try it once I play someone and see what they do. At winter brawl I tried it vs a guile and after sc hp he flash kicked me on reaction. Good shit. Never tried it again.
Bisons c lk me also
Hondas jabhands me.
Good players should always dp these or jab them. Only thing that will beat a quick normal is an ex pin.
A week before MVC3 came out i set a goal to rank my Juri up from 9,000 to 10,000 BP ( mission complete) However for that last 1,000 points i started using Ultra 1 exclusively. Prior to that i always only used U2. U1 is pretty fucking good man, not even because of the potential damage you can score, but because (for me) its a very very useful wake up tool.
Whenever the player had me in knockdown/meaty shenanigans i could use U1 on wake up, freeze time then think about my next move. Great way to take back control of the match or at the very least, get the pressure off of you. PPl didn’t seem to expect me to activate U1 then throw, but that’s about all i did and then they were in the waqke up position shit’n bricks… I like the power. I need to play SSf4 this weekend for fear that all acquired Juri Knowledge is being replaced with Dormammu.
Ohh Man… Ok lemme fix my statement - *If the feute stuff isn’t meaty i find it useful, i can see what he’s doing when the freeze happens then just dash the correct way and punish. * Ive done it plenty of times and i cant argue with results… So my bad. I will continue being a random scrub who actually try’s $hit for himself, i didn’t mean to deter anyone from deifying pro juri players and frame data guides:shake:
Fuerte is not going to let you have empty frames in his mix up. His tostada presses are active for…7 frames. That’s the same amount of frames as fse. So unless you’re activating on the last two frames you’re gonna eat it. Same for his tortilla grab.
Since the window is like… A frame or two it’s not useful or practical.
But you’re argument is using it on times where you have time to react? Which is randomly?
Are you sure you’re not thinking soul satellite? You know this is the juri forum… Right? Hell… Where am I?
Not to be a dick… But I’m the only juri that I’ve seen who does this and it didn’t do shit for me at the tourney over the weekend.
Alright, i’m not sure how you possibly thought i was repeating anything you said but i assure you, that is not the case. I quoted myself and corrected my statement as an attempt to be PC and point out my main idea. “I use this shit, it works for me” Then i went on to make make a cynical statement about those who live by frame data and emulate -air quotes"pro Juri players" I’m not pointing any fingers.
You must have completely misread and or misunderstood my post because your retort is backed with more frame data:lol: and “I’m the only juri that I’ve seen who does this and it didn’t do shit for me at the tourney over the weekend.” Well, that sux for you, but in the little time i used U1, the shit worked for me… What would you ppl do without your precious frame data?? Trial and Error??? NOOO, that’s insane. -obvious sarcasm-
