Watched that Viper one, yeah, HP TK has something like 7 frames start-up, so it can be grabbed. As a Viper mainer, it was a pity, as all he/she had to do was just block better and he/she would have stood a much better chance. Juri has plenty of ways to bypass Viper’s reversals and can shut Vipers who reversal a lot on wake-up right down completely. Nice fuzzy guard as well.
Hey guys, finally decided to register. I’ve really wanted to start posting and I feel now is as good a time as ever. I’d like to thank you all, especially Kail and iQuick, for the videos in this thread. This thread has been an amazing help to me. Since I just got the game for Christmas (and didn’t start playing until after New Years) I haven’t been able to do all of the combos in the vids (been trying to work on the cool little Store/release combos… no luck so far) but I figure I will be able to get them the more I practice. I’ve had a lot of questions lately about Juri and have been relying on just asking my more experienced friends (I don’t usually play fighters, and this is the first time I’ve played Street Fighter since the Snes ahah)
Anyways, kind of trailed off there sorry. What I really wanted to say was I appreciate all the vids and they’ve helped me get the basics down and taught me some cool stuff… even if I don’t have the execution for most of these it did teach me important concepts. In closing, I love how flashy Juri looks as she is attacking she’s really impressive looking and it’s kind of beautiful :]

Man…considering more outsiders than juri players will see that, cats out of the bag on the cl.mk and kara throw stuff, i liked getting away with it on the basis that not alot of people know about it. At least you didnt mention the cl.hp frame trap, thats cool.
And the one mistake at sekku to st.lk you annotated it as cr.lk.

as for the st.HP … i dont like it for a few reasons …
- 11 frame startup … (so i would never use it between taps)
- too much recovery on block
- 1st frame is still standing (so if u get ur frame trap mistimed or you dont know ur frames well u might get thrown but the same could be said about cl.MK)
- not much to link after hit … i like to keep things flowing
but i do tend to use it especially when landing from a whiffed crossup and i KNOW the opponents gonna throw … i even bait a whiffed crossup out for that purpose sometimes … i love it … lol
i have a little bit more junk to get out of the way before i get into AE changes and matchups… but … it depends on my mood really lol

11 frame startup? Its 6 frames which makes it a 3 frame gap and links off lk/lp, its even more awesome, airborn on the third frame and makes low attacks whiff so it blows up crouch tech, then you can frame trap it by cancelling into expinwheel, if they are good at punishing it you can try make it safe with ex counter and do a crossup on the teleport, or you could cancel into lk pinwheel then do whatever. It keeps your options open, like you said i like to do it after crossup lks, but you can also do it after cl.lk/lp or on some characters x2 and youre still considered close, if not you can take a step forward, they try to tech but you press hp. Its all risk vs reward, it nets you about 280 dmg if you confirm into expinwheel, maybe more if you scored a counter hit on the crouch tech.
I personally love doing sc hp. It trades with dps on wake up, can’t jump, catches throws… And I can cancel to pinwheel. If hit I’m good, if block I usually throw.

i just personally like to use cl.MK in my chains when i get the chance cuz i have a longer cancle window as its 2 hits n they’re both canclable plus i feel safer with the less recovery and more frames in the air…
cl.HP is a great poke but i prefer using it as a stand alone or on hit from something else … and even then … i prefer going cr.HP into HK or EX pinwheel for max damage and more pushback into the corner … i dont like putting my EX counter in strings its easy to react to especially if you know the matchup or the opponent is a turtle… i prefer using that as a stand alone as well when im desperate n have no options.

second edit: you can catch the forward dash with OS sweep or something else.
Trying to keep stuff secret isn’t going to do any good. It’s common knowledge already to forward dash under cross ups in the corner. Which is why they invented OS junk for that junk.
lol ye i know i do it to, but ye no biggy, OS that shit and were all good. Its hardly a secret, its here in writing, but if people want to find out they can put in the time to look for it, knowledge is power and what not.
Most of the time you give some cool stuff it’s not used anyway. Only 2 juris I’ve played have used fuzzy guard. No one uses meaty fireballs. No one kasacancels. No one Kara store/releases. No one uses corner fuhajin to jumping strong.
I say this because the secret will stay a secret because no one will use this. Not that it isn’t good… Just… Most people won’t use these things…

I did a ft10 with an akuma player. He didn’t know the match well but he got it a little too late. Id like to hear your thoughts.
