there is already a vid of yossann playing AE Juri. DIdn’t seem to be doing anything different than normal though, not once did he try a fuhajin launcher.
I’ve been away from the game for a good while now. With AE lurking and Cataclysm release, I didn’t really find my drive for trying to figure out new stuff that perhaps might change in AE. With that, I noticed that her walk speed is definitely faster than ssf4 (obvious \o/) and it doesn’t seem to affect the sexiness of her walk. Also, fuhajin charge looks to be faster. Dive kick angles may have changed (will take a look again). Can’t really comment on the other stuff. Are there any other videos out?
I rewatched the Yossan vid and it was my mistake. He did c.forward, short fuhajin release, fadc Ultra 2.
This channel has uploaded more videos including more Juri videos:
From this video you can have a clear idea about her walk speed (a bit faster) and such:

cr.lk is still 4f. ex dive kick -> U2 is still wacky. I think the video we watched yesterday was definitely faster than usual.
Yeah be acrefull deciding if a move seems faster guys, remember these videos come at 30 frames per second, so at times they may look a few frames faster.
1I0QtOM4gRs]SSF4AE: Yossan vs Zangitan ( shows fuhajin kick into fireball, also a nice match in general).
I’ve watched Yossan’s games before AE too, he seems to really have that FADC Ultra down tight.
was about to post this, the fireball store into fireball release looks nice, and yes he does got that link on lockdown, it looks smooth.

Ahahahahahahahaha… This happened like 5 minutes ago.
im pretty convinced we got a faster forward dash, almost 100% theres something better about it.
Also does far st.mk come out faster? looks it, but it might just be wishful thinking.
lmao quick the best part is you laughing at the end
Did some videos, was trying to learn editing with avisynth so pardon any glitches:
- Shows some testing of combo ideas that may work in SSF4:AE with counterhit anti-air fuhajin kick. Now to get someone to try these in actual AE.
- Combo video showing non-practical combos.
Finally some match videos of mine, constructive criticism is always welcome:

Edit: Swapped the Seth combo video for one with glitches fixed and music added.
This guy is terrible, so there’s not really much to say. You probably already know what mistakes you made.
This was a pretty good match. hotaru needs to finish his combos, though. You should probably also block those strings he’s not hit-confirming.
0:14 - You probably should’ve just blocked here. Maybe a c.HP or neutral jump would’ve worked.
0:20 - Too much throwing. You should use s.MK or try to set up a kara throw with a blockstring/frame trap.
0:30 - You manage to get the corner here, but you don’t really do much for pressure. This is where you should be getting most of your damage with Juri.
0:43 - Just block or dash.
0:52 - Good combo, but it might have been better to just throw into the corner.
1:04 - I don’t know why you did that. Anyway, please actually use the thing when you activate it. It’s tricky to get much out of it midscreen, but don’t just do a c.LK and stop. Same goes for hotaru.
1:31 - How is Juri walking up and throwing not the most obvious thing in the world? Punish that crap.
1:40 - …
2:07 - Pretty good corner pressure. You might want to try j.MP for jump-ins, and an occasional j.MK cross-up.
In general, just block more, and punish obvious throws.
Not much else to say here. You missed another opportunity to get the corner at 0:38. I think you were getting trolled at 2:13.

those feng shui setups are godlike.
I’m taking voice memo notes on this match so I can try and emulate these things. I’m seeing very curious things. I’ve been trying to find ways to safely pressure with feng shui and I’m liking these videos. Nothing a tiger uppercut wouldnt beat, but still…interesting WHY he chose to do thoset hings.
Wow, Infiltration has a beast Juri! Make’s me wanna pick her back up.
I’m about half way through the video and like a half hour of notes…going over all of his strings and FSE pressure and trying to find out WHY hes doing what he’s doing.
Hes validating everything that I believe. Offense is the way to go. Does juri have what it takes to be offensive? Well without FSE hes using a lot of Fuhajin stores and traps from his releases to create frame traps and create block advantage to mix up. With FSE on hes doing what I’ve been trying to figure out a way to do it…use it as a safe hit confirm and keep the person guessing when to block high or low. He hasnt even gone for throw mix up and I’m watching it going “damn, thats cool”.
I mean…i’ve never thought to actually drop a FSE combo for the sake of mix up. He hits a combo, stops at strong (which is the normal people cancel into sekku), waits a second and goes into another strong to counter hit.
I love it…its so fucking interesting…
Edit: Everytime sagat does TU fadc, infiltration sc.lk’s and one time s.jabed him. Is Sagat at frame disadvantage after his fadc? Have I been dupped?
Thanks for the comments, you pointed out lots of valuable stuff there. Its sometimes hard to see where the problem areas are in your own game. Thinking on these should give me some things to focus on in training.
Very nice match IMO. I like Infiltration’s overall game plan, zone out the king himself until Mistress Juri feels like dancing, then hop in and whip out FSE. Its a very good point to drive home though, Juri can afford to hang back and zone while build ultra meter, even if it keeps her just even, and then use FSE to take the win.
I liked how he had pretty simple FSE strings like far.MP,cr.MK,cr.HK that he used for blockstring, then he sometimes swapped the MK to overhead.
Although, that Sagat seemed to be a little lost with the matchup, took him more than 6 games to figure out that he probably should do something other than eat the FSE combos. It also felt like Sagat didn’t really know if he wanted to stay out or in, and pretty much let Infiltration lead the flow.
Definitely a match worth taking notes from in any case. Makes me want to see more of Infiltration’s Juri
I just did like 2 hours of voice notes…i’ll sum up what i got.
Things he did NOT do: No Fuzzy Guard, No FADCing fireballs, No FADCing Sempusha. No FADCing at all. No kasatushi > ex.sempusha. No Kaisen Dankairaku. No Ex Dive kick. No j.mp > dive kick. No fuhajin > Dive kick
Frame Traps: Vs. Sagat he did up close what you should do…out poke him. When he got him down it usually was to set up something that gets him cornered. The throw setup’s were very simple. short short throw, sempusha throw, kasatushi > s.lk throw. He used the s.lk, sc.hp xx sempusha a few times.
Fuhajin: He used ex.fuhajin to create block stun. At that point its free dash in. With FSE on, he was free to far.lk into a combo. Against Sagat, threw a low fireball, and absorbed the tiger shot to gain space and build meter with FSE. The fireball kick was used really well. Something wroth practicing is recognizing speed of a fireball and kicking it. having 2 stored in a fireball war is highly beneficial apparently. He used a lot of ex fireballs to control space mid range. Times where sagat would have ex fireballed though his stores he used the ex to force a block, or punish a fireball. After feng Shui activation he used a fireball to force block stun.
Dive kicks: He almost never Dive kicked or second impact finished. He almost always went for third impact. The only time he did NOT do this was when he punished a back dash with an instant dive kick. He neutral jumped out of kara TU or a f.hk and if TS, dive kick.
FSE: This is where i really wanted to pay attention. I liked how he conditioned his opponent. In a long match you have the great opportunity to make them do what you want. He didn’t go for sekku at first, rather a few smaller traps. He stopped his strongs and went for a reset on the combo. I believe i saw once s.lk, c.lp, c.mp > stop > c.mp > sekku. I like that a lot. Reversal bait. He also did s.lk > sekku > s.lk > sekku > sekku. You would assume he would stop after this but he wanted to see how many ti8mes he coudl hit it. fun.
Also very nice to see him using pressure like (Full fse string) xx lk store > s.lk, st.mp, c.mk (release) > s.mp xx store > release. Its that kind of mix up taht will gain counter hits. I figured this was reversal bait but it worked really well and is worth looking into.
He didn’t use throws in FSE. I did see him use jabs to drop a fireball and then throw, or go for a c.lk. I like that. People count fireballs.
I cant think of anything else.
He does this clever thing with st.mp in FSE, after a fireball store he does st.mp, moves him forward just within cr.mk range and obviously puts a active hitbox infront of him to stop the opponent from throwing out a limb/tiger knee, its unsafe but clever to close the gap.
edit: as good as infiltration is dont take his setups as commandments, as you said there was alot he did that a uppercut wouldve destroyed, and that sagat just basically never through out random uppercut to at least scare infiltration, not even when he had meter to FADC, because he was afraid to throw out uppercut infiltration did the obvious thing and rushed him down. Id like to see his juri in a more intense situation, because you cant willy nilly just go balls out like that and not expect to be punished for it all the time.
