Didn’t know if this was supposed to be here or General Discussion, so, copied from that.
You may or may not have heard of Pure Pwnage, the internet series about a few eccentric hardcore gamers and their social ineptitude, but you may have seen the infamous “FPS Doug” clip() from one of their shows, popularizing the phrase “BOOM Headshot!” in shooters for the last 5 years or so.
The show is about the life of a “pro gamer” Jeremy, filmed as a fake documentary by his brother Kyle, who is also a participating character. The show features lots of gamer humor and is more or less an exaggeration and satire of gamers and the extreme lengths some go to be the best.
Well about a year ago they were signed by Canadian channel ShowCase to bring the show to television, with a reboot of the series with some new, some old, and a much bigger budget. Last Friday the show had its debut first episode and was met with relative success.
I’ve been watching the show since like late 2005 and I’ve loved every second of it, I think its a very funny look at competitive gaming, almost like the exaggerated versions of ourselves. I mean, we’re all competitive at heart, and there are probably a few of us that let it take over our lives a little more than we’d like sometimes, but some people take it a little too far.
Anyways, here are the links to Part 1 and 2 of the first episode of the TV series:
