Yeah it really has been, and still is right now for me, got a couple of tests this week and another on monday, on top of trying to get a job etc. im super stressed. Anyone down for playing next thursday night (the 29th not this one) ~8:00pm though, I really wanna get some games in hardcore, got my ps3 stick dual modded to work on 360 at seasons beatings, and on top of seeing tons of really amazing/hype shit I really wanna level up hardcore. I won’t be using a pad ever anymore (BYOC) gotta give my shit up when i get back on, now that I dropped even more $ on joysticks. Also after seeing how casuals were @ seasons beatings I wanna handle it more like a winner stays best 2/3 on each station, makes it more competitive/fun like your at an arcade trying to take someone out and really have to play to win.
yo tonio i’m having a gathering next tuesday as sort of a tekken 6 release party. if you or anyone else from up there wants to stop by we’ll be doing it most of the day. check up on the indy thread for details.
how’d you do at SB4?
yeah man you can definitely count on me heading down there and I’ll bring anyone who wants to go (I’ll probably leave around midnight so I can get some sleep before wednesday then though).
I really liked SB (some of the people are saying it was better than EVO), but I was salty even before I got there (bullshit irl stuff) so I didn’t have as good as a time as I could have, but I tried to make the best of it. I went 2 and out, lost to a really good Bison (think he took a game off andre in a mm) and then choked against this fuerte player wearing a mask. I also was streamed at the stream station in the 3 man tourney, where i basically dominated this vega player first round (gettin those 2 frame links from s.HK w/ akuma) and choked again second round.
My plan was to just download all the akuma players styles while I was there, and see how they handle pressure etc. while also bein a huge fan during shit like marvel and the main event etc.
but yea definitely count me in, is marcus gonna be there? I know he wants to try his honda on my akuma

GS last night fYre, I was really learning a lot, its amazing how much my execution increases when we handle the business man, if I got a roundhouse a lot of damage would come out, but it wasnt enough in the end. I’m gonna get my ryu game up so you can get some practice against a good ryu, maybe my rufus game too, lets do more guys!

Any of y’all gonna try to pick up T6? I know a few people who play right now and are into it besides me. If not, that’s fine since I figure we may be able to merge the Tekken and 2D community here at Purdue eventually.
Cuz I know some people only like certain games, but gatherings are alway a good opportunity to experiment with different games and who knows you might even pick it up and go hardcore.

I am thinking of merging some 2D/3D people into the 2D group. I can bring my 3S friend and possibly 2 other Tekken peeps to these gatherings. What does the set up look like now at these sessions in terms of # of TVs, consoles, controllers, etc.?
Also, what are the usual time and days these sessions take place?
Anyhoo, just wanted to get an idea so we can coordinate later on as needed.

we defiantly need to get more people together regardless of which fighting games they play, i really only play Street Fighter these days but ill scrub it up in Tekken or Blazblue or whatever
Tourou, that’s where I’m coming from too. My main game right now is Tekken, but I have Blazblue and Street Fighter 4 and with a gathering of all these people + games, I’ll definitely be inspired to play more 2D. I even play Soul Calibur 4, but nobody plays that anymore so I don’t really take it too serious now, but if anyone is up for that I can bring that as well. So I’m up for just switching back and forth between games at these gatherings as I find that variety a lotta fun.
