Yea, I think so… Not 100% sure if I have to but I probably will since I’ll be in town anyway and I think I already registered for it. I’m gonna be living in the apt complexes across from the triple X basically (is that what you meant by location? cause I would be down to play against ppl @ my apt anytime). Too bad I don’t think I’ll be able to put up a fight anymore, just got an E 74 error on my 360 today right after I mastered akuma’s challenge combo trials!!, and I think that’ll take a while to fix -_-.

My buddy used to live in that complex. You’re right by the sandwich place, right? Anyway, some people used to host gatherings in various buildings. Have no idea if they still do that.
That’s a tough break on your 360. It shouldn’t take more than 3 weeks for them to repair your xbox though. My buddy just sent his in and it came back really quick.
Yo, there are a few players still around I know of at Purdue. You can usually find somebody to play 3s with at the Union arcade during the day. Sometimes we get together at someone’s apartment or one of the dorms. Hit me up on AIM or MSN (see profile).

Tatsunoko vs Capcom looked like a lot of fun so I’ve been playing that at the Union(I hope they fix p1 side soon… >_>). I soft modded my wii and downloaded the jp version. Soon I’ll have an arcade stick to go with it.
I was just wondering if anyone around Purdue plays that I could bum some pointers from and have a few matches with, haha… computers can only get you so far

Hey guys, I’m back…sorta lol. I got buttloads of work as I’m sure some of you do as well, but seeing as how there appears to be some activity lately I am inspired to post. I’m not sure how available I’ll be for gaming, but in any case the purpose of my post is just to hopefully get some conversation going again and see what our community at Purdue looks like.
I know we have some really good players in a variety of games here, which makes me think that we could become a very competitive region. I would do get togethers, but seeing as I have a girlfriend + roommate, that makes things a little more complicated doing it at my place.
So I’ll just get things started. Here’s a list of games I know that we have players for (and some are extremely solid) and thus, we can potentially make a strong player base for each game:
Street Fighter 4 - meta, me, |Impulse (maybe)
BlazBlue - meta, Abstract, me, |mpulse (maybe)
Third Strike - |mpulse, me (if we get a big enough interest going), Ahmed, a bunch of people at the arcade I don’t know their names but are pretty good as well
Soul Calibur 4 - Me
Tekken - |mpulse, Me
I’m sure I’m missing people + games so just post up. I’m a casual/hardcore gamer in that I’m willing to pick up new games casually and just learn and if I happen to get good, great, if not I’ll have fun with it. So I am willing to do online games with people cause I don’t mind the lag!

Oh sweet I didn’t think there would be that many players in West Lafayette left since I bumped the post a long time ago. I went to the arcade on Friday for the first time and met Ahmed there playin 3rd strike and got destroyed, but was really buggin him about whether or not he knew of an SF community here. Nice to see that there is one.
I’m into sf4 BB and 3s out of that list but also like HDR. But I really need to be taught a little bit of Blazblue or learn it with someone as the online is terrible… I’d be willing to do get togethers @ my apartment, im sure my roommates won’t mind.
Nah I’ve only ever picked Ken at the Union. I wish the sticks were japanese still since I started fighting games w/ sf4 and the TE stick so the Union happ sticks are really annoying for me… my arm went numb playing marvel there its so stiff.
I hope you do come up here man. I wanna get a lot of casuals happening up here. If you saw that West Coast Warzones interview with Yeb, he credited a lot of his succses to just playin casuals 2-3 times a week with his friends in SD, and he got top 8 or 4 at a huge tournament…

yeah, I’ve been wanting to get some games going too. I’d be down for anytime this week/weekend, as I haven’t really found any people to play w/ we can get our own scene going. my brother plays a little but always gets pissed @ the game when he loses so its mainly just me that’s tried to keep the thread active as of late, and a few other guys I haven’t actually met.
hmm… thats actually better than i expected lol didnt see much of a sf scene happenin here at purdue. I’m busy all week and wont be available this weekend, but I’m definitely down for some sessions. Any place we could do it at? My apt will be unavailable for some time.
yeah lol, I don’t think the scene is very active, we have to jumpstart it. We can definitely get some games at my place, me and my bro each have a 360 one in the living room and 1 in my room, but I got the only arcade stick for the 360. Plus our other roommate has a ps3 in the living room, dont have sfiv for it but DO have a TE arcade stick, so we’re pretty much set up here. Live across from XXX, sound good?
sounds good, i could bring a copy of sf4 on ps3 too cuz im more use to ps3 controller than xbox. how many people do you usually play with? where across from xxx? like by the gas station?
Hey guys, I just moved on campus this year and would love to get in on some SF casuals. I usually stop by the Union and play Third Strike on weekdays, also play Street Fighter 4 and trying to learn BlazBlue.
My 360 is currently RRoD’d and I don’t really play SF, but if the scene picks up around here I’ll join the party. I mainly play BB and MB. And a little GG on the side. And by little I mean very little.
But yes, we should organize something, the 2D fighter scene here is like “BLOOURAAARUOOUGH I NEED RESUSCITATION!”
Yo Abstract, I think you should definitely pick up SF4, its the hottest thing out right now along with BB, plus its really fun but some people tend to not like it so I say just try it cause its got a huge scene. I think @ the naptown clash tournament the two highest entered games were SF4 and BB, SF had like 40 and BB had ~35 and I got all those games plus the GG for xbox, SF anniversary edition, KOF12, MvC2 and HDR so my place would be a good place to host
I’m REALLY down to host games ASAP, hopefully this weekend, was gonna go play a club soccer game in chicago on sunday but both of my knees got fucked up @ practice today somehow, so this weekend would be even better.

I’ve already got a copy of SF4. I just haven’t been playing it. I don’t like it enough to enjoy netplay. Playing IRL though is a different matter altogether.
Also I just need to get one of my friends to drive me to Staples so I can use their UPS contract station and send my Xbox out for repairs.
