I want more matches too, facing good Chun-Lis is such good practice for me because they force me to rely on Gen-footsies to get damage

i have a feeling your ryu would be scary, fei too. i feel so spoiled to be playing akuma, hes so good.
i wanna start playing tvc and mb, but it looks expensive to do, the least expensive method for me would be to mod my ps2 for ~20$ and then mod my stick for a crap load more, and then mb is 60$… wtf. buying imported games is the biggest ripoff in the world.

I want to practice with a character who plays fundamentals in all situations
And I’ll probably be playing him more in SSF4 then vanilla since it looks like he’ll be a lot more balanced then
And I want to try Juri, Adon, and Guy…but I need to get my PS3 repaired first!
if you want to play a character that relies on strong fundamentals, I’d avoid Fei Long. He needs to do a lot of footsies and poking for sure, but they’re so garbage it’s not really worth the effort IMO.
If you ask me, the most fundamental characters in the game are, in no particular order
ryu
balrog
chun li
Bison
Zangief (lol)
Chun and Ryu focus a little more on zoning while bison and gief focus more on pressure, but when it comes down to it all of those characters rely on their pokes and ground game and you can’t get by on gimmicks and tricks like with some characters like Viper or Abel.
AAAAnyway, I’d be happy to host SF4 this saturday. I think that we should run the single setup winner stays thing we had going at the end of the last one, I feel like we all played better when there was some hype surrounding the matches and it felt there was a reason to play your best.
I was talking about why I want to practice Ryu with the fundamentals thing, he seems like a good character to practice all-around skills with…he has really strong basic options in all situations but nothing gimmicky or specialized really
I just like Fei Long’s fighting style in general, same reason I play Gen (other then that hes an awesome old man)
And Saturday sounds good, I agree on the winner stays thing
Also…does anyone know a place around town where they can diagnose/repair problems with PS3s? I’m hoping I can find something cheaper then sending it in to Sony
