Punisher War Zone Trailer

He does fight the russian. There are the same people living next to him. Spacker dave gets tortured in the same way. The same killer is after the punisher, though he does act and look completely different. I’m not saying it was perfect, but there were definite links. The problem with the jane movie is how he goes after howard saint. The punisher isn’t about teaching enemies a lesson, or making them the master of their own demise. Most times he just wants them dead. They don’t need to suffer (unless he wants info from them), they just need to die so they don’t hurt anyone else.

I like the look of this new guy, he fits the punisher look well (minus the turtle neck thing, just looks weird to me). I love the max series, it is my favorite book to pick up right now. The problem is that this guy doesn’t move in a way that fits with the realistic tone of max punisher. Nobody moves like that when firing a gun. Nobody spins in a circle firing, or hangs upside and shoots. In the Jane movie, he moved, shot and fought in a pretty realistic manner, and that was a huge factor in how much I enjoyed the movie. There are plenty of movies with people jumping sideways while firing dual SMGs, I just don’t care to see that anymore.

I will still see this, and as long as there aren’t crazy battle vans and laser guns and any of the other silliness from the early punisher runs I will probably enjoy it.

Very true, and I believe that the film was building up to that Punisher. That is who Frank is at the end of the film. At least that is how I felt after I saw it.

In terms of harry heck, you aren’t referring to that crazy old guy are you? They are two seperate characters in WBF. Heck didn’t do squat in the comic he just got shot in the face if I remember correctly

Besides I think they wanted him be more proactive than he was during the year one story(although the scene where he threw the adulterer threw the living room window would have been sweet)

"I am a big fan of Enis Punisher as well and he is a goofy writer, but those goofy ass antics do not translate well on screen. "

Those goofy ass antics didn’t work in the comic either, and again the film severely toned that crap down. Seriously, who writes a character that just keeps yelling “spacker dave!” every other second?

If you don’t like the Jane film fine, people wanted the Max punisher and they didn’t get him. But it was a good film, the cast and crew obviously tried to be true to the source material, lifted tons of moments, images, and dialogue, made the film more realistic, didn’t resort to a bunch of crummy CG(CG is action flicks and horror films never works), and made a solid film to start a series of punisher films.

Complaining that the film shared nothing with the comics is just completely unfounded. Am I the only one who read Punisher year one?

I agree that his old origin story was far better, but the new one was servicable.

And Jane did wear body armor.

I really want the new punisher film to be good, but from what I’ve seen and what the supposed script is I’m not too sure about it.

anyway since we are talking punisher, which series does eveyone here prefer? My fav is the armory series and I like max as well. The new war journal seems pretty good although apparently I’ve missed all the really crappy issues.

I agree.
I’ll wait for the DVD release.

Director Lexi Alexander talks about the new Punisher movie. She says there where things in the trailer they couldn’t show like people getting their heads blown the hell off lol! Ah well, flick’s sounding a bit better to me at the very least.

The spinning on the chandler was super cheesy! BUT this new movie looks to be another guns and guts movie.

The other Punisher movie built the character very well. It wasn’t over the top gunslingin, but it also had its share of really cool blood n deaths. Also one thing that makes that movie cool is he fights a meta human (the Russian.) Which makes it more Marvel Universe instead of random shoot-em-up movie

I’m a sucker for comic movies tho i’ll watch em even if they look bad:xeye:

i liked the jane movie
i didnt like travolta in it

uhh did you even see the movie?

Yeah the Russian was an obvious scene, played out just like the comic. He even looks the same for christ’s sake, look at the shirt!

I hope they’ll do a movie reboot of Ghost Rider.

I’m with this guy. They least they can do is go back and add one REAL fucking fight to the Ghost Rider movie.

better trailer for punisher…

lol…

no way this isnt going to be rated r…

DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYUUUUUMN!

:wow::wow::wow::wow::wow:

So yeah where can I buy my tickets?

After seeing that trailer, there’s no way in hell that’s PG-13.

Loving the darker, edgier marvel reboots we’re seeing as of late!

Damn, Marvel ain’t messing around with The Punisher. Definitely digging the darker tone. Hopefully they can push some advertising so this movie can make some money.

I just shit my pants watching that trailer, and its not the kinda shit that looks pretty

They just don’t care and i dont blame em.

This movie was great! Violent as HELL! Everyone in the movie theater was clapping at the end! Best Punisher movie easy. Good stuff! :woot:

Don’t know if I want to call it the best Punisher movie just yet. But that trailer did make me want to see it, versus the other trailer that made me hate it.

So now I’m a bit conflicted and I reserve my judgment for after I see the movie.

There’s craploads of gore and extreme violence, the movie is manly; main reason to watch it.

Fucking loved it. Easily the best Ennis inspired Punisher. I think I’m going to go with CHUD’s review on this one. I was laughing throughout the entire thing. “Quiet FOO!” The actual infiltration/reconnaissance aspect of Tom Jane’s film being spot on, it just isn’t as entertaining as this one was. This got the outlandish/almost cartoony violence down and general ridiculousness of a lot of Punisher books (Especially Ennis era stuff). Barracuda would have fit right in here.
