If you take away gun rights then the one douche with a gun becomes king of the world. You also screw over all the law abiding citizens.
But if you give everyone the ability to legally own a gun then you allow the chance for horrible events like this happen.
It’s catch 22, really. No matter what, people will find ways to kill people. Murders were happening way before guns were invented, murders still happen in countries where guns are illegal to own by civilians. Anyone who has motive (no matter how frayed their motive is) and pre-meditation is going to kill unless someone finds out and alerts authorities.
Of course without guns, it’s possible the death toll is lower. But there were those knifing incidents in Japan about 4 years ago too, so…
I’m with all the people saying that it’s hard to find words to say at this point. I’m not a parent, but this hurts my heart, that people are experiencing this kind of senseless loss close to Christmas. My grandmother died on December 1st when I was 11 from a prolonged illness, and it tore a hole in my family. It was hard to cope, I don’t even remember Christmas that year at all. That was with some sense to her death, so I can’t even fathom what the families are feeling right now.

What if they framed him? no one is thinking outside of the box. This is a great way to take away guns, most people would be all for it especially after this kind of incident its a perfect plan really.
I feel sympathy for the parents… no one should have to out live their own children.

I think those you mentioned are called midnight specials. They are supposedly illegal to sell and I personally haven’t seen any of these bargain guns, at the shops I’ve been to. Getting a gun can vary from state to state, county to county. I was able to get my glock and CCW license very quickly through the county I was in, since I had prior service under my belt. Though when I moved back to Minnesota, you can’t even purchase a hand gun with out going through classes, and getting a CCW is difficult even with credentials.

you can make a variety of deadly poisons really easily, or make home made grenades with shrapnel. If people really wanted to kill, which they will, they will do like the **JAPANESE and they will start using toxic and volatile poisons. Sure Japan has no guns, but i’ve never heard of anybody using air borne nuerotoxins to do their dirty work. **

Tons of people get gunned down in ghettos all around the country. No one says anything. No one ask how poor people in the ghetto get these guns. No one looks at the fact that majority of gun crimes happen in the ghetto, and that most guns are not legal. We just go about our merry business. Oh but the second some rich white kids start killing up everyone, then we start asking for gun control. So gun control is really to prevent a bunch of psycho white teenagers from killing each other. But let’s be real, gun control isn’t meant to limit the amount of violent crimes happening in ghettos around the country everyday. I mean that’s what this really is about.
