Psx Namco Stick question (yellow buttons)

Hi there,

Im new to this forum so if this has been asked a hundred times then im sorry. I just wanted to know if you could use this stick on a xbox using a control converter and if so which one is best to use to get this stick working on the xbox.

Thanks

Check the converter thread(here: http://forums.shoryuken.com/showthread.php?t=132493).

The problem isn’t the joystick itself, the problem is finding a converter that works with digital-only devices like sticks.

thats exactly what i need a converter that works well with digital, do most converters work well with ps joystick support or is that quite impossible?

I would like to mod this stick just for the visuals and to maybe tighten up the joystick. Are there any buttons I can put in this that wont require anything but soldering?

The magic box 3 in 1 adapter is excellent for the namco stick. You should be able to get 30mm sanwa’s into the case without needing to use a file to enlarge the holes.

Have you used the magic box 3in1 converter to use the namco stick on the XBOX???

Yep, as someone else pointed out, you should be able to get sanwa buttons to fit perfectly without much trouble. however, the same can’t be said about the JLF stick.

A couple of years ago with MvC2.

the stock hori buttons are soldered directly to the pcb. if you want to replace the buttons with sanwa or seimitsu, youll have to either widen the holes on the pcb using a file or dremel like tool so the new button prongs will fit

or

attach wires from the pcb to buttons for an ultimate mess of things since the namco pcb is huge.

so, no there are not any buttons that require just soldering to replace the yellow hori buttons.
