This adapter probably won’t work. 3rd parties cannot just create accessories for the Xbox 360–they need to obtain a license from Microsoft to create a controller for the Xbox 360. I don’t see Microsoft approving this item at all–they refused 360 mouse support and only allow the keyword to do text input in the dashboard.
The only way this thing will work is if it uses the PCB of an approved 360 controller, and that will definitely raise the cost of this adapter.
That appears to be a relatively standard USB -> PS/2 (not PS2 the console, PS/2 the serial port) adapter that happens to also have a PSX -> HID convertor built in. On my mac, I didn’t even have to load drivers…the Radio Shack USB -> PSX adapter showed up as a standard HID device. Oddly, the USB controller that is an XBox I had to load a special HID driver. I’d be interested to see what happens when someone uses a normal USB -> PS/2 for keyboard and mouse. Don’t know if anyoen has even bothered to try a USB -> PSX adapter intended for a computer yet.
