Here are my concerns. Bragging Rights is set to go down on April 17th, right now SSFIV is set to drop on April 6th (rumored release date). Now where the SFIV tournament/5v5 event is concerned, I can see people not wanting to play regular SFIV if Super is out by then. So here’s my question, if the game does in fact drop April 6th, is there any chance of SSFIV being there instead? I understand that the game would only be out for 11 days before the event, but I can see nobody wanting to play regular SFIV. With that said, is 11 days enough to determine who’s truly better between each area? More than likely not.
So what’s more important, hype/excitement of a new game along with being the first area in the region to have a big SSFIV tournament, or being able to truly determine who is better between Seattle and Portland on a game everyone is familiar with??
New game is more important in my opinion its going to be the game we are going to play anyway. This will be like a warm up for what will go down at northwest majors. I imagine aside from new ultras and stuff, most characters won’t have changed enough to not be playable by people who were experts with them in sf4. 5v5 would be fun, who cares whose the best though, lets just get better as a whole so we can be better than everywhere else.
I think SSF4 should be there just for exhibition and casuals. I imagine a lot about the game has changed that nobody will feel comfortable playing the new edition without thoroughly knowing what those changes are. Also, nobody wants to get randomed out by Juri or T.Hawk. This tournament is probably more of a matter of who’s the best at what currently is SF4, and less a matter of those who crammed get rewarded.
Anyway, I’m considering going to this, unless it’s strictly a team tournament. Not sure if I’d wanna travel so far for casual sets.

Keeping the current date as is, no SSFIV, just SFIV singles along with the Seattle/Portland 5v5

Me personally, either or is fine although admittedly, I am tired of SFIV hahah. If people are willing to throw down in a new game at a regional event, then by all means, let’s do it!
S vs. P should be SFIV. I respect that a new game is just around the corner, but why not have this be our last hurrah regarding a game we’ve all been practicing?
I don’t want the S vs. P 5v5 to go from all players being at the top of their game with ample time to learn, to a game where whoever spends the most time finding the new gimmicks and utilizing them.
Just my two cents, but of course, it’s worth less than two cents seeing as I’m just nobody.
I prefer it to be SFIV also, the last stand between pdx and sea, unless PDX will admit that Seattle is better than them @ SFIV. So we can close the books on that and start battling it out over SSFIV.
