PSN SSFIV region flag issue

What’s up peoples.

I just got SSFIV for PS3 to play some PSN-only friends, and my main account is Japan-region (I lived there for several years). In network mode my region flag always shows up as Japan, no matter what setting I change. Is this totally unavoidable on PSN? It’s a bitch always getting automatically matched up with one-bar people from Japan.

On XBL it was as simple as changing the console’s country setting…

you were so close to figuring it out for yourself. it is tied to your psn region. make a new account for usa or whatever.
Im in korea, but have a us account. so i am having the same problem.
