Stopped by parents and locked their credit down. Was able to lock my mom without an issue; my dad on the other hand I couldn’t lock because the 3 sites could not locate his record. I asked my dad how he paid the loan on the cars he be driving, “Son, any big purchase I’ve done is in your moms name.I only use debit card since day 1.”

She’s the scapegoat. The CEOs are the ones that actually need their asses kicked.
She is a CEO, she’s the CEO of their security division. She doesn’t even have to know about computers she just has to manage the administration of all the IT below her.
She doesn’t even have to know all the ins and outs, its called Delegation. All she had to do was identify who under her has knowledge and have them apply the security fix.
All she had to do is ask any of her staff “Hey what is this”? and “Do we need it”.
And anyone worth their bloody fucking paycheck would of said “Yes ma’am we need this, its to keep our servers from getting hacked and ruining the whole company”.
And they click one button and follow a software wizard. It was that easy of a fix, and Equifax had no one in their company that could have done this?
Any low level PC hobbyist can apply a software update. Its just a Apache security fix. It’s like updating Windows.
You click Okay and let it do it’s thing. You tell me she had zero staff with the intelligence to apply a software fix?
She could of have a college intern do it for her, hell there are kindergarten kids that could of done this for them.

Equifax has been non-stopped reported on since the story broke. Just this morning I read three separate stories of it in the Times, WSJ, and WaPo.
Fix where you get your sources from instead of blaming the newspapers for your oversight.
