If you own a copy on both platforms, you will not be able to link your accounts.
"We also asked if players who owned both PC and PS4 versions of SF5 would be able to link their accounts into a single profile that would maintain points between both platforms.
“No. Due to the different account systems inherent to Steam and PSN, separate profiles will need to be created for players who decide to play on both platforms,” said Capcom’s Senior Public Relations Manager, Jason Andersen."
That shouldn’t surprise anyone. I was on the other side of this argument for a few months, but let’s be real. Connecting accounts would require extra time and money, and with crossplay available, having two copies of the game makes no real sense. You’re fighting the same pool of opponents regardless.
I thought connected accounts would be a given. Sign into Capcom Network with one account on anything at anytime for all of their future fighting games.
Its not surprising. Capcom is a company that is trying to turn a profit and support their employees. Good for them and I hope we all support them. They are creating a new SF mainline series and so far its looking fantastic! They deserve all the money they get from SFV/
So real question, i had mistakenly purchased MKX on PC and even though it was trash, the competition was very bad, not that many people played on PC and the people that did were mostly Russian(bad ping). Most pros just played on xbox. Im new to SF franchise so do any great players play on PC or do they mostly play on PS4?
What @EveryFlowerFlow said and SFV just looks so much better on PC. Plus mod support. Also, it’s crossplay, so you’ll be playing against PC and PS4 players.
As someone who will own both versions, there still benefits to owning both. I still have access to the online when my PS+ expires. PS4 copy so I have a version of the game with me when I visit friends and go to meetups.
