Hey there!
just registered after years of reading through the forums here. Normally all I needed was search through threads / Google to get all of my answers, but this time it’s a little bit tricky for me.
I made my own Arcade Stick the past few weeks (hopefully I can share some images later on ) - the thing is the RJ45 connection to my older consoles with the PS360+ PCB.
The PS360+ works flawlessly via USB with my PS3, XBox 360, XBox One (+ CronusMax) and for at least 8 Minutes with my PS4. The Problem starts with the RJ45 connection and Dreamcast and the original XBox.
I bought two cables and made one myself. First I thought my cable has some kind of flaw because the console doesn’t recognize the Arcade Stick, but after I bought two different cables I began to be a little suspicious. After some tests I figured out how the PS360+ works with my Dreamcast, but it was a little odd - the Stick works when I plug in the RJ45 Plug into the Dreamcast, and a second later the USB Cable from my stick (normally used for the newer consoles) into a USB-Charger (like for your phone). That way the Dreamcast works without any problem with my Stick.
So I tought “Okay, no one writes about this, so maybe it’s SO normal that it is self explaining!” - but when I plug the PS360+ Stick into my original XBox (for example for CoinOps) the Stick does nothing. The XBox doesn’t even recognize the stick at all. Not even when I plug a second USB Cable to the USB-Charger.
My setup looks like this: PS360+ is directly connected with a really short USB and a really short RJ45 Cable to two external Neutrik Plugs (like you can get on focus attack etc.). Both cables are around 12 cm / 4,7 Inches long inside.
So… what am I doing wrong? The USB is working, the connection of the RJ45 seems to work… the cables I made and bought are the same (there is a really nice tutorial here on how to make classic cables) so is it the PS360+? Do I have to switch something hidden on the PCB? Do my consoles hate arcade sticks?
