It’s not so much that I use those buttons in game, but like Tragedy said, they are extremely helpful for doing a lot of things in Training Mode. Not to mention, HORI did something pretty genius with this stick. Even if you decide you want to say use button plugs or make a plexiglass cover to have a 6 button layout, you can just toggle a dip switch on the stick’s function panel and change the L3/R3 buttons to L1/L2. It’s quite the design actually. It’s pretty much got a way to make everyone happy.
Shipping out 1/23 eh? Well… I’d place an order, but it still just says “0 available.”
So I guess the question is, when do “pre-order” sales start?
Edit: The 23rd is here and halfway over… but these sticks are not.
Hi hori,
Thanks so much for making the color scheme on the PS3 and 360 sticks different (however slight). That is a really neat thing I hope the other stick manufactures do!
Not answering my questions?
The “Yes Boss!”, im used to always has a lovely brown lady for an avatar…
…
waiting…
edit:
That’s more like it
Welp, been holding onto this info to make sure mine shipped first but ah…
The Hori Soul Calibur V sticks are now available folks! Only from Hori’s website thus far as far as I can tell.
I suspect Amazon and other retailers will have em by Wednesday or so
Thanks for posting this Tragedy! Sorry for the delay as well…
We apologize that the sticks were not available for any pre-orders, but they are officially in stock and ready to be shipped out on our HORI Web Store!
Make sure to be the first one out of your friends to own this limited edition stick
The button scheme on the PS3 looks better, IMHO.
At some point, MS should relent and let the hardware manufacturers decide on the final button schemes. The “N64 pad” colors have got to go sometime in the future!
Soon as I have the cash, Hori gets my money for a Soul Calibur V stick!
(The JLF is going bye-bye, though. I’m probably going to put an LS-32-01 in the case.)
This new case design is starting to grow on me BUT Hori isn’t going to stop making joysticks with the HRAP V3/VX case – are they?
It looks like the old Astrocade cases (HRAP 1-3 style) are going the way of limited editions. I saw there was a Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Prologue HRAP 3 listed on an import game shop’s website. I haven’t seen an official announcement that those older-style molds were retired.
Can we presume that Hori will allow multiple Pro-level stick cases to exist (Soul Calibur V style, HRAP V3/VX) like Mad Catz has with its FightStick Pro, TE, and now V.S cases???
P.S. --Is there an official name yet for the Soul Calibur V joystick case yet?
@HORI
Why does your checkout form allow me to pick canada as a country, but not the province i live in.
#fail
I don’t immediately have time to write up a half decent review yet, but given I’ve had my stick since Friday, let me tell ya, it’s a nice stick.
Unlike the VX-SA (which I also owned and was a fan of), you can even get a little bit more “passionate” about your play (hehe) and the stick ain’t gonna move. Tabletop, lap, or floor. I can’t tell the exact weight, but I’d guess around 7 lbs just based on feel alone.
Also, another plus (for me at least) is the layout. I mean… it’s perfecto. I’ve got pretty wide shoulders and “large” hands, so that little bit of extra space is a HUGE plus for me. I’ll try to be a bit more detailed at some point, but thus far, I love the new stick.
I should be getting mine today! Excited!
can you take pictures of the guts and post it?
I just got mine, took a dysfunctional family photo
No dice. My camera is 120 miles away. I left it at my mother’s house last time I visited =/
@Mark, did you mod it because the buttons weren’t Sanwa? I am trying to make sure that these are Sanwa. I have bought HRAP EX and it was not sanwa. These look like they are not Sanwa even though the first post says so.
the hori rep confirms higher up on this page that it ships with sanwa buttons and stick.
They’re Sanwa, dude.
Still no pics of the inside of this stick?
Hi there,
I ordered my stick from amiami.com, however it does not work.
Plugging it into my PS3 the light indicator does not light up at all and there is totally no response from the stick.
I’ve checked my PS3 and it is working fine as I’ve tested it with my Hori RAP V3 SA & Hori Tekken 5 edition and they both work fine. I tried plugging it into the PC & it doesnt work too.
Any help you can render will be much appreciated.
Thank You.
