nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo i only have digi pcbs
Anyone test it with an inPin and/or HAIS adapter?
OP should also fix the title for accuracy.
But why freeze/break our PS3s? thats “cold”. I guess they want us to pay $150 for a repair. More broken PS3s=more jobs for a technician also.
Edit:What a good way to stimulate the economy!
if someone already updated and have a 3in1 joy box can u plz confirm if it works?
I can confirm that InPin works fine while connected during 2.70 firmware update. Tested after update was complete on HDR and SFIV. No problems at all.
I use this adapter and it works fine after the update:
I have 2 different type of no name ps2–> usb adapters that i picked up when I was in HK. They also happen to work on my ps3. I dl’d the update this morning and tried the converters again and they still work too.
I will try and get a picture up of them if you guys are curious.
edit: my adapter wasn’t connected to the system during the update if that makes any difference
That’s lame since Sumoto is one of the best/cheap converters. I’m glad it didn’t break all of them. Once there’s a response from Sony I’ll go update the converter thread.
I use a TAC Converter for my HRAP2, So if I disc the converter during the update, I shouldn’t put it back in until Sony resolves the issue? is it gonna freeze as soon as I put it back in?
Why would you erase the hard drive? Why didn’t you just choose to reflash the firmware from the safe mode menu?
subscribing. Thank god I saw this before I went to update my ps3. Is 2.70 required for online play?
I did try that option, but it didn’t do ANYTHING. I had the firmware in USB drive, when I picked that option, I needed to hold down 2 buttons (start+something I can’t remember), but it DIDN"T DO ANYTHING. I tried it several times that’s why I gave up and restored/reformatted HDD.
That’s pretty weird. I don’t want to lose the ability to use my PS2 sticks with my PS1/PS2/PS3 fighting games, so looks like I won’t be updating ever again.
Is there any reason you’d NEED to update?
If you don’t play on-line games, you don’t need to update, but any on-line games, you will need to update firmware to be on-line. Really sux. I never had ANY problems with firmware updates until this 2.70 crap. I learned my lesson now…
Also confirming that the dealextreme converter works fine as well after update
Huh.
Man, that’s fucked. First we get screwed by the whole “arcade sticks not having backwards compatibility” thing, then by Sony themselves killing our (admittedly unlicensed, third party) adaptors. And while I don’t play my PS3 online often, I like having the ability to.
I have a buddy who’s going to try it on his apparently (he plays PS3 online) with his Sumoto, but I think I’ll hold off.
im afraid to update
I have a sumoto converter… thanks for the heads up
yezzir. well at least we got Pelican and Inpin work.
tested my 3in1joybox converter on my cuzins ps3. updated his bc he doesnt use converters and i wanted to test mine out. it works. now ima update mine.
