PS2 controls questions

Hi guys…tryed to find an answers by google and here without any luck, so i need your help in this:
I need two controllers work for Player 1 in the same time.
Is Multitap will do the job from the start or maybe after some soldering on PCB?

Or maybe parallel connection of 9 pinouts from booth controllers will work?

I want to make a cabinet for a slot machine based on PS2 so I need standard pad working in same time with pachislot controller.

The second important question for me is:
I have an old PS1 controller which imitates a handle of pachinko machine and it`s works for analog “left-to-neutral” positions.
And all PS2 Pachinko games are not using this method of imput - they used digital “left-right” commands to decrease-increase the power of ball in game.

Can a analogue signal be converted into digital one? In simple words - can analugue D-pad work as digital D-pad?
Like negative changing of analog X coordinate will be taken as “left” on digital pad and etc.
OR maybe someone knows if there any Arcanoid-style dials which can be worked for digital left-right.

Sorry if I did`nt explained myself right - english is not my native language:sweat:
