Protest followed by massive looting in STL

I’ve had a few so I might be confused, but, is this part of your post serious?

So are you saying, at its core, it’s black issue when blacks fail like they do.

Because from what I’ve read, the black community literally annihilated itself after civil rights.

 Damn. I didn’t even see that. My mistake.

meh. The “system”, The “Game”, The “Hustle”

I’m so sick of hearing this same damn song over and over. It’s like you said, people just want to blame this or that, anything that will keep them from looking at something they don’t want to see. There is a way. If you cannot see it, learn. It is there. I can sit here and blame “the man” and “the game” for everything that goes wrong, from being broke, to missing the toilet in the dark. The point is until I find a way to get what I want, I’ll still be broke and now there’s piss on the floor. I tried the military. It was cool for a while, but it didn’t work out for me. Civilian work? Well, McD’s is always hiring, but I was NOT getting rich. Saying that I hated my boss(es) is an understatement. College? Thinking about it. I still think I can learn most, if not all of what I need to know without the college. Mainly, I really don’t like all the hoops you have to jump through for college, and I REALLY don’t like how they try to trap you with all kinds of debt whether you pass or fail. I’m unemployed now, but I have my unemployment income to live on. Good luck and bad luck. I Live with it.

Sure. Some people, white and plenty others hate blacks. Who knows? Maybe it even is the majority. I never bothered to do a survey on the subject, so I don’t know. Some are so enslaved to their ignorance that they refuse to see how foolish, dangerous, and outright wrong their hatred is no matter how many people try to show them the light. Some simply have a bad history with people. Personally, I think I get more mean mugs from my own people than I do from anyone else. Apparently, I’m not a “real nigga” to them. Fuck that. I can read, write, and learn more than I already know. If knowledge is power, then I’m gonna be the JUGGERNAUT bitch!!! I’ll find the way to get what I want. Failure is not only an option, it’s damn near a certainty. What I say is, Fail, then get up and keep going. As I said, the McD’s thing didn’t make me rich, but while I was doing that, I was learning new ways to get there. That’s what it is. learning. I may have found a way that will work. If not, I’m going to the backup plan. At the same time, I’m looking at it to see what went wrong, what went right, what can be improved, what I should stop doing, etc. I’ll stop under two conditions: 1: I get what I want, or 2: I die, in which case I will no longer have need of goals and/or dreams. “The man” cannot stop me because there I am the man. I am the only one who can stop me. As the old saying goes,“Where there is a will, there is a way.” I’m not going to be waiting around for things to be done FOR me when I can be getting it done myself. If I can get some help, great. If not, I’ll learn how to do it myself.

grrrrrr… damn double post.

Oh I laud your attempt at objectivism, and I’m not even being facetious, but an easy reference to link I posted earlier on the black guy attending an Emmy event being held for 6 hours with no evidence,it’s more than just their “egos” at play. Power hungry cops and racism generally go hand-in-hand, since they are likely to attribute anyone on the invisible but well-known social hierarchy with a level of inherent disdain or inferiority. Being destitute is just an added bonus.

I mean look at this white guy holding a rifle making threats while sporting a fitting monocle and top hat, I’m sure his preferential treatment was due to his well-known philanthropic status in the community. I’m sure if a black guy wearing a suit and tie with his legally obtained firearm was acting in the same manner, nothing would’ve happened to him as well:

Yeah, I think it has less to do with simple economics, there is an automatic association than gives police an inclination to act based on race.

Bleh…

Thats exactly what i am saying. But what I am also saying is that things won’t fix themselves overnight, and we probably won’t prosper as fast as the Irish, Jews, and Asians did, at least not for a couple of more generations.

…Stop that.
In any given scenario, even thinking of a possible time frame for an unsure, far-off goal is bad. Just make it happen.
It’ll take a while regardless(it isn’t happening in a day, that much is a given), but DEFINITELY don’t make it worse by self-limiting before getting started.

After reaching $433,000, donations for Ferguson cop halt mysteriously - http://www.latimes.com/nation/nationnow/la-na-nn-ferguson-officer-fundraisers-20140831-story.html

That’s fucked up. The cops didn’t even let him get a punch in before shooting.

Totally agree. These days, people in general are always trying to blame someone else for their problems which are usually caused by their own behavior or choices. The black community (which I’m pretty sure no longer actually exists…) won’t get anywhere until we own up to poor choices…and stop excusing criminal behavior. I’m tired of fellow black people acting like it’s NORMAL to have a criminal record. “Like you ain’t neva made mistakes!!” No, nigga, I haven’t…not to the extend that I got my bronze ass arrested!

On a lighter note, next time my new kitten “misses” the litterbox, I’m taking a picture, then showing a white co-worker the next day while saying “Dammit, man, look what you caused!!”

In general, blaming any kind of higher power (government, God/Satan/religious figures, Illuminati, etc.) for any kind of misfortune is a very, VERY pessimistic way to look at life and will automatically set yourself up for failure and underachievement. You are essentially saying “because of X, I will NEVER accomplish Y” and therefor never truly try to break free of what ails you. Instead, saying “because of X, I must do Z to accomplish Y” is, at the very least, a much more positive and objective based approach. In regards to blacks, I can’t relate what they’ve been through since I’m not black (only black when I’m posting on SRK, of course), so I’m not going to say their struggle is or is not due to being set back. What I am saying, however, is that mentality of how you approach the world and life is much more important than anything else. Don’t give up from the start. Don’t set yourself up for failure. That’s not a way anyone should live their life, regardless of the reasons.

You can assign blame where it is due, and see yourself as having a chance. Not mutually exclusive.

Also, you’re referring to nihilism, not pessimism. Pessimists act towards making a difference even if they think it won’t work.
Nihilists don’t do jack, and lament how things are for the sake of itself.

…Hate those assholes.

Except when the material conditions literally prevent you from “becoming x.” Ex: when did a Sudanese working class child in the midst of a genocide ever really have the chance to become that spinal cord specialty neurosurgeon he/she read about in that one book?

Yeah overall an idealist philosophy leads to more detriment than a real material understanding of the “higher powers.” Let’s call them social forces from here on.

Idealism (particularly subjective idealism) plays a special heinous role in justifying and maintaining inequality and oppression these days…

One of my friends is a cop, and when was going through police foundations training (fun fact: the academy from Police Academy movies is actually right near me) she told me some interesting stuff.

A lot of the dudes she was in training with would flat out state they were the people who got excluded in high school or ignored. I remember her telling me about a guy who told her “when I was younger those assholes wouldn’t let me smoke weed with them. Now I will show all those assholes”

Is there even a proper psych evaluation done before they get hired?

Ferguson cops wear body cameras

Widespread law enforcement adoption of those cameras is a win for everyone, looks to be the only good thing coming out of all this.

A good question for a psychologist. The answer generally tossed around is simple self hatred, mixed with despair, fear, and low self esteem that are caused by various reasons, from poverty (usually this) to simple bad parenting, or lack thereof. All HUMAN problems, and not some black only problem. The fact that you, and other people keep trying to lay basic human issues on black people is a part of the fucking problem to begin with. Youre doing nothing but increasing that self hatred, and that low self esteem, because after enough people say it, you will likely start to believe it.

You also know damn well the unique history black people have in this country, and all over the world for that matter, but lets stick with the usa. You just do not feel comfortable acknowledging how that past has greatly affected black americans even until this day, and for what reason youre uncomfortable with this, i dont know. Black americans have continued to persist over the decades, even after our leaders were assasinated by our own government, we were lynched like animals for fun or because of lies, our businesses destroyed when we tried to stick to ourselves and get shit done, and a laundry list of other horrible injustices against us. Lets not pretend like we stopped progressing 50 years ago or some shit.

Youre just seeing what you want to see.

Black women beat out all groups by race and gender in college enrollment, and our bachelors graduates have increased almost 10 percent since the 90s, along with general enrollment being up for black americans.

Why do i have to come in here like once a week to dispell some type of racist untruth about black people? My simple answer to my question is you want to believe your own bullshit, and fear being wrong.

Try googling something that goes against the stupid shit youre thinking. You may find some nice answers. How fucking hard is it to google “bank loan discrimination”, “black college enrollment increase”, etc…

This thread is like a fucking bill o reily segment, just all wrong information spread as some type of gospel of truth. Its quite a damn shame, but keep on thinking black people are just the people you see on worldstarhiphop, who only listen to gangster rap, and we will continue to press forward as usual.

The stupidity and insecurity in this thread is astounding. I guess i just need to ignore your post, and treat them as idiotic troll post.

Did a black guy fuck your first girlfriend and go on to be more succesful then you or something? God damn, get off our dick with your hatin. U MAD

With that kind of mindset, there’s no need for those scum to even bother trying to make keeping status quo look like a well-reasoned endeavor.

They don’t have to, when people dither about and give up so easily, like this sort of mentality makes commonplace.

Maybe you should read the other shit I posted before you think I’m pinning basic issues on niggers. As if “niggers” are the only things cabable of such fucking failure. All I need to do is look I. The mirror of my own ethnicity to see how Mexicans are fucking up on the same levels as blacks.

You seem to be a bigger part of the problem within the “black” community (If such a thing exists) where any question suddenly becames a platform of hatred and degredation of “blacks”.

If I had something negative to say about blacks I’d say it out right.
