I don’t recall if it was Ondrej, Mandel, or Rattana who ran the first SouthCenter tournament I ever attended, and first video game tournament I ever attended period, but thanks for running that (it was the tourney I played Silver Samurai/Cable/Sent against Kuan). And thanks to the guys who ran SouthCenter Tilt and had a sign advertising the tourney outside their store, because if I hadn’t seen that during a random search for Iron Man action figures at KB Toys I probably would never have met any of you.
And thanks to Rattana and Ian for teaching me the (very) basics of Marvel waaaay back when at SouthCenter back when I knew jack. It was cool but intimidating to get lessons from OGs when I was (and still am, sigh) a scrub.
And thanks to about absolutely everybody else for various reasons.
This post is just kinda props to SC and all the people that played there.
Big Props to the Big racing car things behind Mvc2 cab that we used to climb on and watch matches until they would tell us to get off of at SC
I still remember the first day SC got Mvc2 and how fuckin hype that shit was
and props/respect to everyone I met at SC, and to all the people that were running tournys throughout the years at SC for both Mvc1 and Mvc2, lots of fun memories playin with you guys :tup:
oh man! trinh was dope. i remember he came over to a friends place to play cvs2. we smoked and he was like “wanna see magneto in cvs2?” he picked N-morrigan and that shit was nuts seeing it for the first time.
I keep forgetting to mention this but I’d like to give props to Julian and Keith for showing me a few hints and tips on Super Turbo last Friday. Unfortunately I still can’t do Chun-Li’s secret ninja trick with her super. Maybe I have the wrong version of the game or something. Lol one of these days I’ll figure it out.
