Banning Giants…because they are not good? I could’ve sworn the reason certain characters in games are banned because they are **too[/B ]good/broken.
Last I saw…Gaints can’t block, and are slow.
Shit…let’s go ahead and request a soft ban on the remaining 40 characters in Marvel vs. Capcom 2 because they are not good.

after reading of this opinion, i have but one thing to say
soft-ban gigants is unacceptable
thats like saying, hey gustavo, dont do jab, or dont go for command throw with ligtan because i get irritated, the same goes for psychochronic, is like saying dont go for your unblocable rocket into super lvl 3 cause is broken.
i understand what people say there boring to watch, yes people say this outloud, the mayority of the fans will get annoy by this, however at any pro level you will see this kind of stuff, the reason people complain so much about this issue is because the game by itself isn’t as popular as SSF4 or as hyped as MVC3, if you see SSF4 70% to 80% of matches are horrible boring to watch but people dont complain because it is SSF4 they dont care they only want to see their favority childhood franchise get more people, with that been say, no SSF4 dont suck but has more tolerance and support of their comunity that why so popular it has people while TvC have smaller community.
As for “the game is dying because of gigants” seriously is not that, the game has a lot of complains that are based on stupid point most are done by fanboy of others franchise or games (unfortunate for us, this is the mayority of the fighting game community), then again, the game being a exclusive to Wii does make a big diferent over this whole thing, mostly because nintendo is know for having a big casual game roster, also japanese and really old fan of anime know the roster of tatsunoko outside of the gatchaman, this couple with a big disrespect to the game itself make it undesired to lots of casual to hardcore gamers, if you want to know what i mean by disrespect to the game them watch any stream tournament that involve the comentary of Djwheat or skisonic you may understand what i mean.
Whe are the community that stand on the side of TvC making soft-ban’s on anycharacter especific match up or based on entertening the audience just prove how less you care about the game getting bigger, TvC is so balanced that you can pick whoever you like and win a big tournament, therefore why disencourage people to pick what they like, if you want the game to grow dont do this, remember the game is made of the gamers that play the game not the audience that complains on the background.

As to the OP are you seriously proposing and defending a ban for something because it isn’t a crowd pleaser? Are you out of your minds? It’s totally subjective what is fun and what isn’t fun and this sounds an awful lot like an excuse for being unable to beat the Giants.
It’s unprofessional. It’s silly. I don’t even know why I am posting in this because no matter what you decide, I will always have PTX as my backup character and I say screw you to any tournament organizer that tries to stop me, warn me or otherwise interfere me from using my robot.

Me and GCYoshi are the 2 best PTX players around, it takes major skill to win with giants, them being banned hurts the community even more.
I ask a question though, i heard from some people that Keits is planning on banning the giants, from now on? Please say this shit aint true, because if the scene is really gonna do that, then i say fuck TVC. If this isnt true then im gonna kick those guys asses for lying to me, but if it is we should all try in our power to go against that dumbass rule.
I heart keits and i met him at evo he was against that rule, so idk why he would start that rule if its true. i really hope not

iono bout u guys, but I think giants give an interesting twist to this game. I know, they render ALOT of shit differently cuz stuff doesnt work on them, but u have to learn the matchup. It’s not that hard to learn your character against giants, really, it’s just that some of them get aways easier than others.
And on another note…the boring factor??? Shieeet, last time i checked, fuckin Yoshi’s PTX is WWAAAAAYY exciting to watch!

Giants should just be for fun but for Majors they should not be legal because it is a 2v2 fighting game and giants should only be mean for fun. No offense to the giant players but you guys should find characters to learn other than giants for majors.
Tron, thats not fair that like saying banned Akiha Sisters(Hisui/Kohaku) together in melty blood cause its post to be a 1v1.

Let’s soft ban Zero, because he can destroy teams by himself without help. It ruins the team aspect of the game, and combos whiff on him because he’s a short character so it’s unfair. It’s really boring to watch Zero just combo someone against the wall for 99 seconds so I propose a soft ban to suit the spectators.
The giants irritated me until I learned how to deal with them. Learning that I could combo them normally in certain situations changed my outlook on those match ups.
I know which teams are going to have a problem with giants, and which ones are strong against them. I create teams that have an even chance vs giants and normal characters.
Lets not forget that there are short characters in this game that can’t be hit with your standard B&B combos either. You either have to use variations of them, or find different ones.
I may actually learn to play PTX at some point. People who don’t know the matchup are FREE.

nahh don’t ban zero, ryu can combo for years also. and yeah zero may be a bit of a problem sometimes but there’s little gimmicks other characters have against him that they could use for their advantage. like i honestly think Vjoe vs Zero is 50-50. Vjoe is hit&run(red hot kick to wall to voomerang(high), only thing zero can do it wait till he lands on the floor. i don’t main vjoe but i have a friend who has a theory on it. but then again this all my basic opinion.

I was just trolling ya guys haha, Giants do not really give me a problem, I will just counter pick. Seriously I do think Giant players should learn other characters though. I do think giants are kind of lame though and a waste of character space.

There are just way to many good teams against the giants to soft ban them. I like how they make you come up with a cp team. This makes you play more people in the cast. I think that the giants actually push more of high level play if you make the giant player also learn the normal cast as well. This will only happen when they are hard countered correctly. I play Ippatsuman/Tekka as my second team, and I only learned them for the giants match-up, then after playing them so much I learned they are a really good team and I could main them. Now I just play Doronjo/Tekka if the giant player does not know the regular cast as well.
If you just spent the time to learn how to beat it, since we play 2 out of three sets, as long as you get actually good with your cp team you should only lose to a giant player if he is better at the entire game than you are. Most of those teams I have listed are really good teams to play, some not so much but still really good against giants.
I do agree that giant players should also think of learning another team, in case somebody does a hard counterpick against you in a tourney and you can’t adapt fast enough without switching characters
