So only people who place high in major tournaments would be able to post there?

Intended or otherwise, this just punishes “normal” players for not going to tournaments and placing high, or being friends with SRK Illumanti and other high-ranking people on the site.
I say, punish the stupid people for being stupid, and it’ll work itself out. Tackle the users who are bad, not the users who aren’t good enough.

You’d “gain back points” by posting useful, well thought out stuff, no matter how small it was.

Seriously, if you are Latif and you want to discuss with Wolfkrone about how the two of you can beat Fuudo in the next EVO why would you feel the need to post all your discussions in the internet? Some guys like to share their knowledge to n00bs, some don’t. Some don’t mind sharing their knowledge but they do not feel the need to post everything they know on the internet.
The elite forums won’t replace the regular forums.

The problem is real, but I don’t think there is any decent solution. I’ve spoken to top SF4 players who were sick of the SRK forums as far back as the Vanilla days. I don’t really see any top players using something like this though unless they had incentive.

If top players want to share online, they will share it online.
If they cannot even disregard the occasional idiot, I do not know what is the point of this forum. Just have them post blogs or something, if no interaction by others is allowed.
What makes you think that Nazi mods can prevent shit posts? Everyone on this site is entitled to their opinion, as retarded as it may be. However, you would be called out for it in pre-SF4 SRK and it was the mob mentality that generally discouraged shit posts. We were told that we weren’t allowed to be dicks anymore and we moved on. It’s been more than 3 years. Move on already. I think some of the people that have posted in this thread should never be allowed near a keyboard but there isn’t anything I can do about that.
There are definitely people that see tataki’s idea as elitist but fail to understand that this shit happens all the time in e-sports. Would it work here? I doubt it because if they really cared about sharing knowledge that much, they would have reached out and posted it so Johnny Doughnuts can see it.
