Project - VOLTECH Arcade Sticks

Your sticks look great and I love your modeling stuff - what are you doing that in?

I put this in my original post under Q&A
but it’s cool here you go

Q - What program are you using to make your models?
A - Google sketchup download it here http://sketchup.google.com/ its free

Yeah I was playing around with that a little but didn’t want to break your model. Either way the holes match up and that’s what I was hoping for since I’m making it universal. I may include a couple of wooden blocks for mounting to an s shaped mounting plate. But that would be cool to have a blank one that I can switch out parts on so thanks.

Good stuff dude!

looks awesome especially with the hybrid capability. i’m not sure if this was mentioned already, but what pcb are u gonna use? good stuff.

This project is all about the box design but for me personally I’ll be using a a dual system setup. 1 Gamestop Madcatz wired 360 PCB combined with 1 Toodles Cthulhu PC/PS3 PCB. I used this diagram as my guide http://forums.shoryuken.com/showpost.php?p=6258153&postcount=448 I have this setup currently in my Chun Stick. The one difference I may add is a slider switch mounted to the top sheet for easy access. I’m currently using a toggle switch mounted to the side of the project box inside my case.

BTW I’ve taken into accounted the size of the project box I used and will add it to the model to show how it fits

Looks incredible. Can’t wait to see a finished product.

Since I’m going for a universal hybrid I want to try and include the Koren sticks too.
I’ve never tried a Korean made stick (although I’ve heard good things)
Can anyone let me know what the best or most popular brand is and I’ll see if I can make it fit.

Can you identify this stick?

I found this pic and I liked it better than some of the others I’ve seen cause it reminds me of the Happ IL sticks. (I’m not a big fan of the lever switches)

Aren’t those Fanta sticks and Crown buttons?

Isn’t the vewlix button layout a bit slanted? You have the button columns lined up vertically, while that isn’t the case for vewlix.

WOW!!

I never knew you were this talented!!

I really like the viewlix style stick.:tup:

If youre afraid that you’ll get in trouble replicating the viewlix style, how about design one that replicate older candy cabs like the astro city or a capcom impress.

How heavy would the stick be?

UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU I need a price! Very nice man didn’t know you were into this!

I think that is the American part of the Hybrid?
American Layout is lined up right?

Japanese part would be the two Offset Buttons.

shinshoryuken, I see the Spoon Crane as your Avatar.
Do you have a Type R too?
Maybe even an NSX-R?

This is not supposed to be an exact copy of a vewlix cab (although I could make an exact replica) the dressing in the first couple of models I made just happens to be similar but that can change at any time. I’m currently playing with some new shapes and I’ll post them soon.

You are correct sir!

Nice prototypes Voltech, Now I see what you were talking about all those times on voice chat. Keep up the good work man !

Damn thats hella sick dude…If you sell those youre gonna sell alot dude…(well if its cheaper than the original one…lol)

Ok I’m off to do a little shopping at a few of the usual places ie Lows, Home Depot and a local hardwood shop. I’ll try and take pics and get pricing for the materials I plan to use.

I’m definitely interested in one of these.

long as it’s priced within reason, and quality is high, you have one sold for sure.

let me know!

Wow nice! I’m definitely interested and loving the hybrid! I remember seeing the customized chun stick at vid 94 and it was really cool. Great Work, keep it up!

I definitely want to see more Chun. I rarely get to play against her xd.

I just got some Fanta’s in the mail.

Despite what I thought I read about Happ and Korean joysticks being interchangeable, it doesn’t seem that way. The Fanta joysticks I got (Myoungshin) all have holes that are in a square of dimension 5cm x7.25cm. The Happ P360 I’m looking at has a dimension of 6.5 by 7.5.

If you know a way to get these 2 designs + the JLF-P1 (used for Sanwa sticks) and the Seimitsu SS plate (used for the Seimitsu sticks, fitting close to the Sanwa), I’d be very interested to see the hole/mounting design.

I’ve posted in other threads asking for mounting area dimensions (holes and depth for mounting plate, also depth for the stick from the top plate), but there aren’t any replies.
