You are correct about the hardwood vs the painted cases and thats what I had in mind. As for the small lip I will experiment with that a bit to see what works best. I do plan the round the edges so there are no sharp corners to scratch or catch clothing. I know in the pictures there is a slight slop to the cases but I think for now it will be a flat top and the bends on either end will be the same angle. I may play with this design a little but for now the top 2 images are what I think the final build will look like. The access panel layout is still up in the air lol I don’t know what I like better but I may go with Split button layout with Home on the left the pass through in the middle and start, select on the right. BTW you can mount the NAUSB or RJ45 much easier with this design
While it’s not official I do have a very good modder that I have been working with. Maybe you’ve seen his work ? So yeah that is a very good possibility
At first glance, I really like the Elite version. But, I also like the compact look of the Lite version.
Maybe you could do an Elite with slimmer wooden sides (almost like a trim) and get the best of both worlds?
I could go for that!
I personally am not a fan of the VSHG case, but I think it is a very smart business move for you to do this Voltech. Lots of people want one and can’t get one. And if they do come across one, it’ll cost at least $160. This is the next best thing, if not, better. Very smart dude.
Yeah guys this case is going to be sweet I am going to try a couple different metals like Aluminum and steel. I’m loving the weight of the steel case but it may be overkill, well see when it’s done. So I’ve got all the parts ordered up and I’m waiting on the metal to be cut out this week. It shouldn’t be too much longer before I have a working prototype
