I did have Alex Valle try it at WCW for a sec, but he didn’t like my cherry switches and got distracted 8P. Anyway I know a few forums I can hit up.
It’s not the restrictor’s fault but the throw of the JLF and how I play.
Posted links on shmups and racketboy. good luck and loving the gate.
Toodles could you make a thicker spring sleeve to go with the gt-c. Ultimate jlf mod works but tape and shrink wrap wears out.
You mean the plastic piece that makes contact with the microswitches? Nah, not going to be doing that anytime soon. I don’t consider it likely I’d sell enough to even make prototypes, much less the many thousands of dollars it takes to get a mold made.
Just wait for the spark it solves that problem as far as I could tell from using the Sanwa flash.
I did find that if you just put the tape or shrink wrap on just the bell part of the actuator it doesn’t wear out and get all over everything.
Hey Toodles do you have a price point for the spark yet?
Oh dear, I seemed to have manged to actually crack my GT-C.
See the black line? I can’t really put my head around how I did it but it happened. I’m not rough with my stick at all (Then again someone did knock over my stick the other day, that might have done it.) I was wondering why my DPs wouldn’t come out so I checked my stick and saw this. It doesn’t seem to affect it that much though. I also ran my finger around it and it’s completely smooth. Well, for now I guess you could just chalk it up to misuse unless more reports come in.
How in the hell did you manage that??? Pmed
I really don’t know. Thanks for such good support though.
Got Mines a Couple days ago from LL. Installed it today. Amazing Product!! Thanks Toodles!
Glad you like it, tell your friends
ah don’t worry Toodles, I’m already spreading the Word and I’m Placing another order! thanks again!
Dear Toodles, simply put, the GT-C is awesome. Bought one to try and have it in my MvC2 stick. Will be buying another for the stick I’m going to be building next month.
I actually cracked both of mine, it doesn’t seem to matter I ran my finger around the inside an didn’t notice it. I put it back in and can’t tell its even cracked. I’m still grateful Toodles made the though.
Hey Toodles,
Picked up two of the GT-C’s the day Chad posted them up and I’m really loving the feel so far. The installation took a bit more effort to turn than your installation video, and it did feel like one of the gate tension prongs was pretty stressed during one mod, which leads me to believe it’s more just about QC on some of the Sanwa gates. Tried them out with a stock JLF and one with a cherry and spring mod, and I’m really digging it on more on the stock JLF for now. Thank you for having these produced, I’m gonna have both sticks with me for a casual MvC3 play night so that I can try to push them on some friends.

Got me two of these one placed in a tek-case the other a TvC. I will be matching them with Your flash replacement as soon as You release em. Much appreciated and keep it up.
awesome!
Hey Toodles, I just got my order from Lizardlick.
Thanks for making them massive :). U know, people here grew up playing arcades, and when they got the TE, they felt like something was missing. I had some friends saying “I still can’t get used to TE, I’ve always played with circular restrictors”. With these, now you can say you have an arcade at home
Greetings from Peru

P.S I didn’t know there was a video available. Can you please update 1st post and add a like to youtube there? Thanks
Well i just put in an order
Having played on the MK2 Cabinet in my basement since young i always wondered why the sticks i bought from retailers never had the same feeling
Derp.
Looking forward to installing this in my TEK case
Wonder how this plays out with sf/bb.
Well, I still haven’t been able to break a GT-C in play, even after bashing the stick around dangerously hard. If did finally manage to get one to break break, but I had to put it on concrete tab-side down and step on it. I noticed something weird though in the break; the crack was in the exact same spot as the picture pzlate posted up. From shadowsteve’s post, I believe his cracked in the same spot as well. That finally led me to figure out what I think the problem is.
The crack on mine starts exactly on the spot where it was connected to the sprue in the mold. There’s a little rough section right at that spot that isn’t present anywhere else on the part; that’s where it was connected to the sprue and broken off. From constant pressure right on that spot, the crack propagates. Where’s that pressure coming from? The little plastic springs on the clear restrictor plate. The tabs are 90 degrees from that spot, and are the only parts resisting the downward push from the springs. So for most* installations, this pressure is right over the rough spot.
So how to keep this from happening? Rotate the GT-C further. If the GT-C is put in one ‘click’, the springs will be pressing down right next to the rough area. If you turn it further to the second ‘click’ spot, the pressure will be off of the rough spot by 45 degrees and should keep the rough section from trying to crack. It wouldn’t hurt to lightly sand this rough spot down if you have a chance, but its by no means required.
Three things I will be doing to fix this:
- I will film a new installation video and get it posted up asap that shows the GT-C being installed to the second click.
- I will be sanding that edge smooth. Anyone who has taken a materials science class should know how important a polished surface is for prevent crack propagation from stress/strain/creep. I’ll get a batch together to send to LizardLick asap. I’ll post up here when I know for sure that their outgoing stock has been polished.
- I’ll replace broken ones. Those of you who have had theirs crack, please send me a PM so we can arrange for a replacement. I will ask that you take a photo of your cracked one though just to prevent scammers.
I am deeply embarassed about this. I hope those of you disappointed will see that I want to make it right.
Nothing to be embarrassed about Toodles you are doing an amazing job. Keep up the great support and we’ll get through this little kink.
