Yeah same here mate.
It doesn’t help that I can’t do the motion for U2 anywhere near as fast as U1.
But a lot of situations where U2 punishes, U1 will too (obviously not all of them).
Also I’m trying to get out of the habit of using the ff chain (FADC if I have to) ultra combo, it seems to scale the damage a hell of a lot, and shoulder FADC U1 does much more for the same amount of meter, and it will combo off other attacks too.
I see pretty much everyone here choosing U1 over U2 for the wrong reasons.
U2 looks cooler, and it has its OWN MUSIC. Why pick U1? Sheesh.
I haven’t seen this in this thread but you can lp Izuna Otoshi Juri of an EX spinwheel if she did it while you where jumping at her.
I did it first in match and was able to redo it in training. The timing is tricky though but it’s doable.
Might be doable against normal spinwheel, i should test it some time.
This dude is right. U2 all the way because of those elite reasons he said.
I definitely prefer U2 because of the damage and the animation is better.
Best ultra cinematic in the game honestly (next to bison and vegas).
The truth is in practicality I dislike both of them. I just can’t land either of them on good opponents. They just feel like a waste imo.
Instead I concentrate on my normal game instead of formulating strategies to land these.
Now, I just randomly switch between the two and hope for the best.
You can counter slide attacks really well with U2 though, if the opponent doesn’t space them right.
:nunchuck: (just felt like using that emoticon)
I have tested Blank’s U1 and can only punish the ultra not interupt it. You can, however, use ex run to escape it without any chip or permanent damage.
Fei Long could have used a :nunchuck: Ultra instead of the counter one lolol Especially since he’s got a Kato Alternate costume out of respect for Bruce Lee lolol All I hear in my head as soon as I seen that emoticon was HOOOOOIIIIIIIIIIIYYYYYYYAYIIIIIIIAYYYYYYYYYIIAAAAAAAIIIIIOOOOOOOOO (asian sounds like a Kung Fu movie) lolol
u1 can be kara’d with ex run so you can ultra focus absorb->ultra ala rog and abel.
my bad if this is old news.
:d: it’s about as useful as the other two, so no haha.
Does the absorb cancel have any practical uses though?
And has anyone got a link to the video that showed it before?I can’t find it.
Absorb cancel into EX shoulder to punish fireball spam which gets you in Guy’s optimal attack range as well as getting a knockdown.
Most interested on Balrog Vega and DeeJay punishes.
I was playing a Dudley and was poking with st. mp --> option select into run slide and he would jump in occasionally, for some reason I pushed st. mk and it stuffed most of his jump ins. I felt to be more convenient than cr. mp esp while poking.
timing is a bit weird, and im not sure if it works for all jump ins, but i think you input when they’re in a direct line above you but slightly before.
against dudley, use cr. mk, beats all his jumpins. If he’s close, neutral j. fk works well too
Im not sure if anyone noted this, But Run slide beats Gen Ultra 2 (Mantis) and EX BSK beats out U2 (Crane) clean.
Not sure but I seem to be able to punish Cammy’s Cannon drills with BU. Maybe just the HK one though, not sure. I think T.Hawks air dive is punishable with RSL or EX HOZ but I had a hard time doing it online.
Random funny thing, Guy’s U1 beats out many U1s it seems. I did U1 and ken used U1 after mine but he was still beat by it clean.
It’s actually possible to Beat THawks Condor Dive with TK Izuna. I fought a THawk and mainly thats ALL I relied on reaction to his jump, But guy seriously needs a faster jab, and a lot more invulnerability on EX BSK.
Just be careful of j.lk, it beats c.mk
What’s the point of risking getting hit when you can just block and punish the condor dive. Unless you’re down on chip damage and can’t afford it at all
If you have the timing down, Izuna beats Condor Dive and Tomahawk buster and if you react to him jumping you easily can grab him even before he does the dive. And you can bait him to do Tomahawk buster. And normal Izuna beats both moves so if you want you can otherwise you can block and just wait for other forms of punishment but if you let the Thawk know you can punish those moves, that shuts most of his game down and allows you to play defensive meaning you had to do Condor Spire and Dash to approach you and all you have to be wary of is his 360 Grab and Ultra if he has U2 then be wary of jumping once he has meter.
