My Blackcats invites aren’t working right now. Everytime I click on them it says invites are offline, so I don’t know if it’s for everyone on Blackcats or me because I have a bunch of leecher friends. When they come back up I got 6 for trade.
if you check the bottom of the front page on Blackcats after you log in you can see the stats, if they have too many members it doesn’t matter if you got invites, people can’t join. Only thing you can do is wait until they prune their list of the leechers who don’t seed.
Yeah, same issue for me. I think it might be because a couple of the people I gave invites to from this site decided to be douchebags and not seed even though they promised they would. :annoy:

Yeah. I checked your ratio earlier today, I highly recommend not downloading over 5 gigs, because if you do you will go ratiowatch quick.
Honestly, it’s not insanely hard to find things that aren’t on OiNK. I ask my friends for CD’s, borrow them, if I can upload it in FLAC or V0 / V2, that’s free seed right there.
Also, you guys missed out on bit-hdtv’s freeleech. Even though it was supposed to end yesterday, it ended at like 3am, so I ended up downloading like 15gb for free, and am now seeding 2x what I actually upload.

Haha, yeah. I’m definitely not going anywhere near 5 GB until I get some damn uploads. I’m being careful not to grab too much, which is hard with how much good stuff is on there. 
I searched through the requests, though, and I have one CD that’s been requested (albeit by two people), so once I get that encoded I’m putting it up quick. Do you know if a burned CD has any quality loss?

It takes forever to rip CD’s using EAC, but it’s the best quality.
Don’t rip from burned CDs. Transcodes = no good. Basically, you have a burned CD. What was the original source of that CD? Is it a 1:1 rip using a ghosting program? Or EAC? To give you an example of transcoding, take a 128kbps rip of something, and re-encoding it to say it’s 192kbps. OiNK is known for banning people / not allowing you to upload if it is a transcode, and some hard-core uses will run the MP3’s through Adobe’s sound program (not sure the name), which will show them a graphical outline of the sounds peaks. This will very, very easily show them if it’s a true rip or not.
I would highly recommend not uploading from burned CDs, just to save yourself the worry.
Also, don’t feel too forced to follow the general rules. I upload ANYTHING I can. I rip most albums into FLAC, and just get one or two full uploads from it. And that’s a gig or two right there. One of the biggest uploads I’ve gotten so far is from a random Fela Kuti CD that wasn’t even on OiNK, but I thought was just another typical CD. I got 10 leeches right away, and there was no request for it at all.
A quick tip: Get a free account at filemp3.org, and cross-reference the uploads to OiNK. Lots of the shit will be there, but sometimes you will find a scene release that wasn’t put up on OiNK. Throw it there, and include the .nfo and all the original stuff, and just click the scene tag. It’s a easy way to help your ratio if the album gets a few hits. Everything counts!
