He had such a huge impact on damn near every genre. Was really ahead of his time. One of my favorite artists is D’angelo and he was heavily influenced by him. You can hear it in his music

Living in Minnesota, I know a few people that knew him or had stories about their experience with him. Overall really nice guy.
Had a customer come in and tell me while I was working and had to make sure that they were both not lying and they were talking about THE Prince (Had a coworker pull a fast one on me by telling me Will Smith died). Was pretty hard to believe till I looked it up myself. Didn’t really grow up with him but I dug him as an artist and had a ton of respect for his eccentricity. My dad absolutely loved his music. Can’t say much that hasn’t already been said so far in this thread. 57 is too soon…R.I.P.
