Price of comic books over the decades

First off thanks to the guys at Newsarama for providing the figures.
Secondly, I made a graph that shows how much comic books cost and how they increased over the past few years-

As you can see, there wasn’t much increase between the 1930s till 1970s. From the 1970s onwards, the price of a comic book would raise to twice what it was was previously.
This increase went on till they now cost 3-4 dollars in today’s market.

Did this out of sheer boredom, but I do hope that the cost for comics may decrease…

Interesting.

On the one hand, comics today are made with much more sophisticated technology. On the other hand, as time goes by, the more sophisticated technology grows cheaper in comparison to the outmoded technology (how much would it cost now to run a print shop full of ladies switching plates in and out all day?).

So… fuck.

Just be happy you’re paying the cover price!

I paid ?5.50 for Secret Invasion #2

That’s US$8.55!

damn thats crazy. $3 books go for ?2,70 here.

Hey, look at the rise in the cost of novels.

1980’s:

Paperback: $2.99

Hardcover: $5.95

Mid 80’s:

Paperback: $3.95

Hardcover: $7.99 - $9.99

mid-90’s

Paperback: $4.95

Hardcover: $10.95

mid 2000:

Paperback: $6.95

Hardcover: $13.99

Current:

Paperback: $7.99

Hardcover: $24.95

Where is here?

Looks like the UK…don’t they get screwed on everything, pricewise?

It would interesting to see the OP data contrasted with the popularity of the format (ie. how many comic books are being sold).
