Oh yeah and if you should be upset about any bandwagon fans for any team, then perhaps you should be upset with the Steelers and not the Seahawks. We may have our share of bandwagon fans, but we don’t get nearly the amount of attention the Steelers do. If you don’t believe me, then turn on Sportscenter, or go to ESPN.com. Hell go to any of the NFL threads on any forum you go to. All you’ll hear about is Jerome Bettis’ old ass goin back to Detroit, the immaculate reception, the Steelers Super Bowl history, OR how they showed up one day later to Detroit than Seattle did. Enjoy!
heh… Can’t say much about what sportscenter is doing… but to be honest, what news story does seattle really have… is shawn gonna stay or go after the season… either way you can’t care about that until the seasons over… besides him, there is nobody intresting on that team. Am i tired of the coverage of the steelers, FUCK YEAH, but is it more intresting then seattle … FUCK YEAH. Belive it or not, Jerome is a better running back then alexander and this is first and only shot at a super bowl, and thats more news worthy then anything they got on that squad. ESPN would report on Seattle’s super bowl history… but yal just don’t got one… The steelers winning the super bowl after all the hard teams that they played is more intresting then seattle. Its a more News worthy story, its not like they hating on seattle, they jus givin people what they think they want to watch… and people love drama and struggles of others. As far as being upset with bandwagoners, i can only focus on my area and its surrounding region and nobody over here is putting on a Bettis jersey right now… heh maybe i can look threw my closet and find my old Kordell Stewart Jersey!!!
I’m gonna keep this brief since I’m cookin food. But I seriously can’t believe you said that. Hahaha Jerome Bettis has like 90 something tds over his entire career, Shaun has 89 already and has only been in the league for half the time Jerome has been in. He’s only remotely effective by the red zone. Jerome Bettis isn’t better than Shaun Alexander, Jerome Bettis isnt even better than Jamal Anderson is now. Hahahah! Shit I wouldn’t even say he’s better than Tiki Barber and I hella hate that guy.
What’s the difference between more newsworthy topics and EC media bias?? Where is the line drawn?? From what you just said, I’d say you were one of the many that bought into the hype. Why is Jerome Bettis better than Alexander? Just curious as to why you say that.
LOL, its all good, we all got a difference of opionin, injuries kept those TD numbers down, but i don’t see Shawn getting as many as BUS!!! anyway its good to discuss shit with people without it getting retarded. Why don’t you throw up a score for me if you got one on the game??? ill give you a halla later though, im pretty sure people not liking us taking over the thread???
Jetay, I cannot BELIEVE you said that. To think you could even CONCEIVE of such garbage is downright shocking.
Bettis is, hands down, the most overrated player in the Super Bowl. He had a long career with decent numbers each year that lead to a large body of work, but not once has he been a serious threat. He’s only had ONE 1500+ yard season, and for such a highly publicized red-zone threat, he’s only had 2 seasons with 10 or more touchdowns. His career rushing average is 3.9 per carry; only 2 other backs in the top FIFTY have a lower average.
Bettis is well beyond the twighlight of his career, and it shows. In the past 3 seasons (including now), he hasn’t rushed for more than 1000 yards (his total this year is a miserable 368). Shaun, however, has rushed for AT LEAST 1400 yards, and has gained 1500+ the past 2 seasons in a row.
So please, enough with this bullshit. Bettis is a top 5 back on paper only, and even then it’s only in total yards. He is nowhere NEAR one of the best to have played the game, not even in recent history.
You have got to be joking. Bettis has 91 TD’s in his career. He could score twice on Sunday, and Shaun would still beat him by a long shot next season with a fraction of his output from this year.
LOLOL the thread’s original purpose has gotten murked. But yeah man you already know I was just talkin man, it was all good, no riff here. Here’s my scores, the reason I say scores is to be nice to Steeler fans.
My Nice Score (the pg version): Seattle-27 Pittsburgh-14
What I really think: Seattle-34 Pittsburgh-17
See both my scores have us winning by over 10 hahahah. But the first one had them scoring 14 and us not scoring over 30.
OH AND TO BE BACK ON TOPIC EDIT-I’m gonna be bold enough to say this. Mandel’s getting top 3 in this poker tournament. You hear it first on MTV DUH DUH DUH DUH NEWS!
Dems fightin words bitch!@# :nunchuck:
damn rob you in your feelings aren’t you!!!
as i stated before, if you had bothered to read, ITS WHAT I THINK!!!!! I look at the overall of his carrer and i am impressed, 3.9 ypc, why can't you be impressed with how many times he carryed the ball to get as many as he has. I was refering to as many yards he has had!!!!!!! not the TD's! i know whats up when it comes to the TD's! what the hell guy! make sure we are on the same before you talk that shit with me! what you appreciate and what i appreciate is 2 do different things, i respect shawn but not as much as i respect BUS. let it go man, as i know you like to get into pissing contests with me and shit!!!!
Deezo:: you know there’s nothing but love
P.S. you really think seattle is gonna score over 21 on pitt’s D… cuz if they are, they are gonna have 2 do it threw the air… you got that faith in your boy Matt!!!
In other words, he’s overstayed his welcome. Parker and all the other forgettable Steelers running backs have averaged for almost a half yard more per carry (4.38) and put up almost comparable yardage. Like I said, Bettis has never been a consistent threat for more than a season, if that. He’s just put up decent yards over the course of a long career.
And don’t act all innocent, this all started when you said Bettis is better than Alexander. That is a complete joke. Take the two at their best (Bettis during his ONE 1500+ yard season and Shaun’s current season), and Bettis wishes he had one of Shaun’s MEDIOCRE years.
If I had to choose between Bettis and Alexander for a single game (hell, make it a single SEASON), give me ONE reason to choose the Bus. JUST ONE!!! The production just isn’t there.
Pay more attention to sentence structure before going off on ME foo.
Matt’s had multiple 300+ yard games in the playoffs, and hasn’t made a single mistake this post-season. Hell, he should’ve won that game vs St. Louis last year, just that the receivers let him down AGAIN!!!
You guys from Portland should just come up to Zach’s and just fight. What’s really good?
Ugh, I just watched those videos. I’m an obnoxious ass drunk, somebody should have slapped me. Somebody asian, so it wouldn’t have been a hate crime when I dick slapped them into unconsciousness in retaliation. Also, supa jo brough dat fiya!
common jmar, you u really got thats gonna fight me!!?!??!?!?!
Fuck sentence structure rob, dis does not be’s english class!!!
as i said before, IT'S WHAT I THINK!!!!!! and you can bring stats up the yin yang, but i could really give a fuck!!!!! we know bettis is gonna be a hall of famer and we know in the NFL, respect is earned and not given!!! Bettis has done his job long enough to get his..... i can't say alexander has done the same!!!! neither can u!!!
^-- Yeah, but Barry Sanders WAS an awesome running back too. That doesn’t mean that he would rough it up if he was playing Sunday. Give Alexander a couple more season like this one, and he completely eclipses Bettis. Hopefully that happens for Sean, regardless of what team he plays for.
The new controllers haven’t arrived yet. Hopefully they get here soon. =
I’m not sure if I’ll have time to pick up the cabs before Friday. We’ll see.
Yeah, back to the topic. Who’s goin to Zach’s on friday?
Not sure if I can make it this Fri, but I’ll post back in here once I know. I have a detailed outline for a 25 page research paper along with prolly 15 sources required in an annotated bibliography due in a grad-level class next Tuesday, so I might not be going back home for the weekend.
I’ll be there fo sho.
I’d offer to help you move the cabs Zach but I doubt my Miata will be of any use. If you can’t get em because you need a truck or SUV I can ask my buddy from work to help us out today or tomorrow, just drop me an email if you’re interested and we can meet up in building 10 if he’s ok with it. Bummer on the sticks, I figured they arrived weeks ago.
Skyway Is coming in full force, Me, Minh, Garms, and Row.
Drew: I thought you were sober, cause thats how you act when you are sober.
Jetay: Shut the hell up
Speaking of bandwagon fans: http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=caple/060201
To be fair, every damn city does this. People that usually aren’t into sports all of a sudden are the biggest fan of their home team when they do well in the playoffs or win a championship. I saw this about a half a dozen times in Miami. Back in 95 then again later on when the Panthers went to the Stanley Cup, then with the Marlins winning the World Series, when the Dolphins first got Ricky Williams, etc. Then the next season, the flags on the cars are gone and nobody watches the games anymore. I’m glad the Seahawks made it to the Super Bowl but I won’t pretend to be a lifelong Seahawks fan, and I think everyone here is being genuine from what I can tell.
Totally randomly, MAS Systems called today to ask if I still wanted the joysticks. WTH? I’m going to see if I can get them delivered by Friday.
I am definitely going on Friday, as I’m going to a game conference to job hunt on Saturday morning rain or shine. The hotel’s reserved down the road from the airport, the registration for the conference is already signed up, I’ve got gas and food money, all I need to do is just show up. Assuming it’s on Dreamcast, I’ll have my DannyCat Original along complete with fancy white artificial coated wood to play on so I won’t have to rely on Zach’s sticks. Who knows, maybe that means I’ll actually beat somebody.
The odds are not just super-bad that I will be defecting to Seattle soon after I leave the Art Institute. I have a lot of roots in the Pacific Northwest and hell yeah, I’d rather stay somewhere in the region once I’m a game developer rather than going to… ugh… California. (Let’s see… in California they have this perverse thing going where the only places more miserable than the cities is everywhere else, because just about everything that isn’t desert is overpopulated. Whee?) If this does wind up coming to pass then I’ll look forward to being a regular up there again.
