Kunimitsu TOP 10 Moves SIZE=4[/SIZE]

  1. f4 = Enough said
  2. b2 = best tracker move on her arsenal
  3. u/f+3 / u/f+3,4 = Kinda like Yoshi’s u/f+3, but with an additional string
  4. d+3 = decent low, high crush too
  5. d/f+3,2~b = mid/low plus cancelable, so great mix up
  6. ff+2 = great wall splat starter, Tag bufferable as well
  7. ff+3+4,2,4 = great combo starter/combo finisher (long combo)
  8. b+1+2 = safe on block, combo starter if connected
  9. 1+2 = takes a step back before attacking, ideal for frame hunting
  10. u+3~U = great for spacing, but use wisely

What the other player doesn’t know

When she comes out

Thanks for compiling all this info!
On #5 of her top 10 moves, the cancel is down, not back

that ff4 (9fs?) good gawd sir!

Has anyone been experimenting with plain ol’ f+3 SET? It seems that you can cancel it with b and/or d/b to create even more mixups with it. inputting the direction neutralizes the followup window and allows you to do normal moves out of it. It can also be used in combos to get some extra damage/swag (replace f+4~SET 1,2,4 with f+4~SET, b~f+4~SET 1,2,4).

Love this!!

So she can crouch mid attacks? Yeah, I really hope Namco didn’t do this on purpose and will remove this asap. :frowning:

Is Kunimitsu playable at the arcades?

Sure no problem ^.^!

Yes f+3 is a great tool for mix’s ups … but then there’s f+4 which is kinda ridiculous at the moment LOL.

I actually think it was intentional. It looks too clean to be a “glitch”. Things like crouch height and hitbox size are things that would constantly be on the dev’s minds while creating the game, so the idea that they wouldn’t realize Kunimitsu has the smallest crouching hitbox is really farfetched. Also, it seems appropriate that a character with a lot of movement and dodging options would also be able to duck under previously unduckable things. If it were a glitch, it would be a pretty embarrassing oversight.

I also don’t think it’s broken, but I play Third Strike where character specific stuff was all the rage. Also, exploiting this, as in ducking an opponent in hopes that they throw out one of the mids that whiff, is so impractical that I don’t think it’ll make a difference. Unless the Kuni player has mad yomi/luck.

 Kuni ducking some mids will be more of a luck/frustrating thing for the other player rather than a solid strategy that she’ll be banking on.

The only reason I’m fine with it, really, is because she’s a ninja. And it’s only some mids and not all.

At this point, the onus is on the other player to know which mids they have that will whiff on Kunimitsu.

Just found another weird cancel. Well, two actually. For u/f+2 if you press d/b right before the attack is supposed to hit (or just hold it), it becomes a feint that leaves her crouching. Similarly, you can do the same thing after d/f+3,2 and she’ll cancel the slash animation into a spinning crouch. Never heard anyone talking about these, but they seem really useful, especially the d/f+3,2 cancel. From what I can tell, this almost turns the d/f+3 into a decent poke. Doing d/f+3,2~d/b has less recovery than the raw d/f+3, and ducks under highs and those unfortunate handful of mids.

Edit: Looks like any crouch input will work, not just d/b.

Can I get her 2nd costume’s Amaterasu mask for other costumes? I’m having some trouble there, if it’s possible.

yea i really want it too :frowning: but I dont think you can

Ok…I think you actually CAN get it. There’s an unlockable item for Kunimitsu called the Full Fox Mask. I hope this is what we’re looking for. You can unlock items in Ghost Mode, after beating opponents with a gold background on their name bar where you chose who you want to fight. You just have to chose a team consisting of characters who you want to unlock items for. Here’s hoping

I actually wish they’d give an option to have Kuni go maskless. If you look at the cloth mask, it’s obvious that she has a fully modeled face under it. I’m tempted to extract her files into a modeling program just to see what she looks like.

The Full Fox mask is a little different… Her TTT2 mask is half of the Full Fox mask
The Full Fox Mask is the mask she had in TTT1 [details=Spoiler]

Ohhhh. Aw, MAN!! Namco better add these items in an update.

I’m actually going to be sad when people figure out how to block d/f+3,2 =[ (its leads to so much dmg). Have you tried f+3, 3 2? People always get hit with the low leading to a wall carry for a wall splash.

When people start blocking d/f+3,2, that’s when I’ll start mixing in the crouch cancel into WR 3 or FC 4. It was practically made for conditioning people to expect the low. My experience with f+3, 3 setups has been hit or miss. Sometimes it leads to awesomeness, like landing the low 2 or the 3 hopkick. Usually, though, I get mashed out of it. Normal u/f+2 works well for me though, because I condition with similar looking moves like f+3+4 and u/f+4.
