If you just count people who put Fchamp as #1, people currently only have like 25/20/15/10/0 Points so far… so depending on Flocker/JustinWong/ChrisG/Combofiend/FChamps performance… still anybody’s game?

Yup - Nobody here had Taekua or Frutsy from Mexico on your lists? You guys really ought to pay more attention to the Mexican Fighting game community. I’m sure Fanatiq, Marlin Pie, PR Balrog and Knives will be from now on. 
Honestly though - none of them should feel the slightest bit bad for losing to these guys. Every Marvel player in Mexico knows who they are. While we’re all incredibly happy and hype that Taekua made it to top 12 and Frutsy to top 8 - I’m not going to lie… they were both without question on my Top 32 list.
What you all need to be afraid of is all the amazing Mexican Marvel players who didn’t go this year - but will most likely be invading Evo NEXT year.
Karter, Pony, Ramune, Juncko, Tako, Lingas, Cricer, Miau… the list goes on for a while.

As a parting gift here is a set of youtube videos… a 5 vs 5 of some of the top players in the country… Guadalajara (Team Versus) vs Team Elite Mexico and yes - Taekua and Frutsy both play in this match for Team Elite Mexico.

From the way it looks, It seems someone is going to win by getting only 2-3 right/whoever was lucky to nail the winner.
In light of this, I’m going to change it up. I have not looked at anyones list to check, so I am not being biased by picking a winner right now/Top 8 hasn’t been decided yet.
If you correctly picked the winner=100 points
If you correctly picked a top 8 player= 50 points
If you correctly picked a top 32 player= 25 points
So basically, instead of being accurate with exactly which place the player came in, I have broadened the scope of top 32 to allow for the craziness of yesterday

If so (For the people who have FChamp as first)… Lots of them already have Flocker+ChrisG+JustinWong+Combofiend in the top8… so the winner of this contest is already decided. (Well, if champ wins that is)
I thought it’d be a little more interesting to see how the top 8 intermingle with each other, and have those placements also mean something (Because not everyone has JWong, ChrisG, Flocker, and such in the exact same placement). But oh well, your contest I guess.

At least I have somewhat of a shot at winning now because of the new rules.
It was basically you get the winner right, you win.
These new rules are more suitable for a contest with a relatively small amount of entries such as this contest.
Looking at all those who have FChamp at first… I do have the most points with the original scoring system…
5/32 correctly guessed in the right position.
When Approx 16/32 would be normal guesses people would make. Other 16~ or so not everyone has either heard of, or would people have expected to take the top 32.
I think I did okay. :x

You don’t have a shot Scar; you only total up to 200 points for the “new” scoring system.
If he used that scoring system, it would easily have to be superwii64cube who won. He had 500 points stacked up.
The thing disappointing with the “new” scoring system, is as I said above, it didn’t matter who got 7/5/4/3/2.
Lots of people who had FChamp to win had different placements for Combo/Justin/Flocker. So it was who really guessed those right is the one who got the most points.
I calculated as soon as I saw his post on changing the scoring system, and superwii64cube had already won. Regardless of the final results. (Well, as long as FChamp won)
So it would be pretty lame in a guessing standpoint if 2~7 didn’t matter.
I was REALLY hype duing the final 3. I needed ChrisG specifically THIRD to get enough points.
If he went 2nd, there would easily be another winner. And if he took 1st It could have been anyone who luckily put him at first.
When champ was fighting Infrit in WINNERs finals, I was hoping Infrit won, because I thought champ would have a better shot against chrisG.
And IIRC, he pulled out a lucky win against Infrit in the final match. (Was it the Sentinel -> Plasma Storm chip -> Punish?)
After that, ChrisG vs Champ went down to the wire, and I thought champ would lose and ChrisG would win until that bad raw tag in the end.
Finally, Grand Finals looked free at first… but Infrit started doing well when he went into losers with champ.
Every time the match started and Infrit touched Champ first, I was so scared for champ!
Without the specific Champ 1st, ChrisG 3nd, Flocker 5th; I wouldn’t have a shot at the highest score.
So when the matches turned in my guesses’ favor, I was always so hyped.

I understand how you feel though. If I would have won with the old scoring system and not with the new one I would be super pissed too.

I’m hoping he reconsiders using his original though; because also what he said;

It seems he assumed that it would only be either 2/3 right, OR Luckily getting the winner.
But I got 5 right (Including 3 of them in the top 8), AND one of those I guessed was the winner.
5 right out of 32 is almost 1/6 correct… that’s not bad considering we had to guess the top 32, in the CORRECT position, out of EVERYONE who entered Evo.
And as I said, approximately 16~ (or half) of those in the top 32 most people wouldn’t even taken a second thought to put in their list.

well, the rules are pretty ambiguous and there could be several different winners depending on what you meant, so I hope you’ll clarify and stick to what what you decide regardless of people whining. Thanks for doing this!
