Pre-AE Sakura Video Critique/Exhibit

It’s a free close range punish unless you’re particularly unlucky and they decide to Ultra cancel randomly. The only thing that we’re really able to punish people trying to hit us out of it is with a Super or Ultra since they give you more than enough thinking time :stuck_out_tongue: It’s even more free after Dan does the little “Yahoo!” hop since after that you can’t Ultra cancel, let it finish and punish at the end you’ll get 25% more damage on the first hit/attack for being nice

I’ve also seen Xiahao do Legendary Taunt with no Ultra available so he’s not always trying to catch people with that trick :stuck_out_tongue: (I’ve done it once or twice, it was awesome :P)

Yeah, pretty bouncy in that game, I’m kinda surprised he didn’t do more random headbutts to compensate. ROFL at the random Ultra hitting him taunting, bet he’ll think twice about taunting like that again

believe it or not, that ultra was not total random…i buffer the input while i lay on the ground and when i saw one move from him,i hit the triple kick xD…but i expected some punch or sth
little lucky,but not 100% random

yepp…i recognized,he cant handle that…i try to jump much in one round,to bait random headbutts
(sad, that the last one hits me xD

You could probably cross up all day long on him but neutral jumping doesn’t avoid headbutts sadly :frowning:

Good stuff again in that video. I need to use more of Sakura’s post ex tatsu mix ups myself.

honestly i got nothing from watching that. there were so many ways to punish your jumping but he failed. he could have cr hp just about all of those jump ins, i play a rog about twice of week for about 4 hours each time and that guy just didnt know what to do

thats the main problem with the most high tier / OP characters in this game…blanka, sagat, rog,(ryu) u dont have to be good with these sick characters,to win (with blanka u dont even need a combo)…so they get eZ through g2 and g3 without any problems and with no real training…most of them dont rly know, how to handle the power of their chars.
they dont know,WHAT is good against WHAT…what to use as AA…what A2A and so on.
the basics are the key to master a character.

sakura is one of the weakest, but in the right hands, she is just a little beast.

rly folks, sak players rly know hard work for gettin good…aight?! xD

but tbh: this game was one of the worst…i can do it better ofc…nvm,i hope u enjoy the next video more

Don’t go to hard on that balrog though. I’m sure a few of us have tried our second or third characters in G1 and took a beatdown. I know my akuma loses me all my G1 points and then I spend time getting them back with Sakura lol.

Btw looking for some fun mirror matches on PSN this weekend. Add me up!
PSN: mrsailboats

i wasnt saying you were bad, dont get me wrong there, im just saying rog failed and u took advantage of that

now a little more “entertaining” video

Good to see you just having fun with this, something I need to do really. Got to the finals and lost to a Spamka (bad Dan matchup :() and realised all of the matches were just too shit to warrant posting, not entertaining in the least. Need to rethink my approach

Yeah he’s a good Dan player which reminds me, we need to get on that recording thing if you would, just so I can see what I’m doing, cause when I look back to remember what I did wroing, I forget

im sorry, but this is the most ridiculous and scrubby thing i have ever heard. if you are speaking online, strictly. perhaps you are right, but the same can be said with every character if you base your gameplay around lag. but if you also mean you dont have to be good with those characters to get wins offline, you are sorely mistaken. if sagat and ryu were so easy to use, we would see them winning hella tourneys in the us. but the fact is, theres only like 2 good ryus in the us capable of that, and maybe 1-3 sagats. those characters, while very powerful, take a lot of skill to win in high level.

yepp,i am only able to speak about onlinemode (in germany is NO competition :frowning: )
and u cant say that it isnt easier to win with blanka, rog and other high tier chars, than with sak.
there are many safe moves and the life/dmg output is important for this statement of me.

to make this all a little compact: with rog, blanka, sagat u can earn very early many victorys…and this is why most of them ONLINE get lazy and dont train combos etc. (just look at this f*ckin zeeshan)
offline/progamers put more work in their chars…i dont compare offline to online play

there is a reason for the tierlist.if a good sak player would play sagat or rog at the same level…he could be more powerful.(wich NOT means,im jealous about other chars…i have choosen sak/chun and i enjoy beating the shit out of huge guys with a little girl)

normaly i give a damn about the tiers…but there is a little truth inside.

i dont think so dude…just surf here in the forum a little time and u find WAY MORE “scrubby” things around here.
even with the “sorry”-plz dont call my opinion ridiculous

I don’t think the extremely talented “low tier” users negate the fact that some characters are inherently better than others (online and offline). People are not dumb; they pick ryu, sagat, whoever… for a reason :P.

WORD! xD

LOL beating up huge guys with a school girl is probably the only reason i started playing sf4 seriously.

since you are speaking strictly online. then thats cool.

as for offline, yeah its obvious sagat, ryu etc are inherently better than a lot of the cast, no one denies that. but you cant be an idiot with them and expect to get random wins against someone that knows what they are doing. sagat is the best, but hes really weak at blocking, if you arent hella good at blocking, good luck. plus hes really weak just outside his low forward range. ryu, contrary to popular belief amongst most of srk’s unitiated, is a high skill character, most people cant take him beyond midlevel.

they are the best, but it is not even close to a free victory for anyone, offline of course =)

i think we have the same opinion somehow

maybe one day i am able to have offline competition…that would be nice.

tomorrow i get my hd tv from my house into my parents house, and start sf4 on ps3…i hope there are more ppl, than pc version…cause this is a nomansland.
maybe we face someday

Ironfist/JR begs to differ ~>
