You played quite well vs your friend - didn’t take too many silly risks or throw out too much random stuff - but Sugami is right, you got in several times and then just spammed LP or LK instead of dishing out some good damage.
Eventually your friend will figure out that cr.LK x3 followed by cr.HK can be blocked and punished or reversalled and then you’ll be in a world of pain.
The c.MK xx Shou link is probably the last one you want to work on The one ending on c.HP xx HK or EX Shunpuu is a good starting point for links but I’d not worry about them atm, need to work on your basics first.
I’d suggest not spamming c.LK either, after the first one use c.LP since it has better advantage on block and hit and you can follow with a c.MK xx Hadouken for good measure, might not link or combo but it’s good for keeping some pressure on.
Incidentally after three close range crouching Light Attacks you’re in the right distance for j.LK to cross-up, but it’s easily walked out of the way
Thanks gang. Don’t mind all the s.Shorts though; I dunno if I already explained, but I’m trying to come up with a comfortable way to confirm those into combos (and they work well for half assed block strings). More videos soon, and maybe even against some Gief tonight~

Don’t think there is one Looking at the frame data and such for it, it doesn’t chain and doesn’t seem like you can link it either Although I did like the s.LK x3 > f.MK block string you did
c.lk, s.lp, c.lk xx ex tatsu is good also, it hits everytime. its also useful since you can use it via cross up they gotta be in the standing animation though, if they are crouched, sakura’s bnb c.lk, c.lp, c.hp, xx ex tatsu will connect.
Well Eventhubs lies, says it’s chainable Well maybe it is but it’s hard to chain? You’re right about it being linked though, +4 on hit so there’s enough time to get another in or a LP of any variety. Personally I’d rather poke with s.LP than s.LK but s.LK does have more range to it, which seems to be the advantage there.
And yeah it’s a very handy combo for pressuring and trying to confirm into Shou, if it’s guaranteed I’d obviously go straight for c.MK xx Shou or s.HP if there’s more time
At very close range, c.Forward is bad because it gets beat by a lot of stuff. If you notice, I use c.Forward more as an counter-poke poke into Shoryu rather than a straight up poke confirmation (although I do this sometimes as well).
