PowerUp Podcast: Midwest FGC and Beyond

GREATEST PODCAST EVER!!! Already callin’ that shiznite!

1 Vote for derrick.

You should make derrick watch a match video and ask him what the losing player could have done to win.
I have been lucky enough to hear derrick think out loud a few times and that dude is like the all seeing eye.

@Clint: I’m writing that idea down right now. That is awesome, thanks!

Of course we also get into the KOF/SNK scene and all the ins and outs. Enjoy the podcast and look forward to more KOF/SNK throughout the next couple months.

Thank you SO much for the KOF podcast. KOF is what got me into fighting games and it’s my favorite fighting series even if I play other series much more nowadays. Keep the KOF info coming because I will easily join into any kind of KOF community that I hear of!

PowerUp Episode #43 is here!

AxioM discusses the Kansas scene and the MAXOUT tournament series he helped create. I always like learning about different fighting game communities. People and places may be different, but the love of fighting games is what we all have in common!

@migrations: Thank you for listening! Keep tuning in because I’ve got at least a couple more KOF/SNK focused podcasts coming out before the new year : )

Thanks a lot, Nathan! I really enjoyed doing that interview. Much appreciation for what you are doing for the midwest scene! :china:

PowerUp Episode #44 is here!

Desmond Delaghetto discusses more KOF and why he enjoys the series. He also shares his beginnings in the scene and more opinions on the state of the KOF community and how it can improve.

Good prodcast guys ^^^

Real curious to see if KOF XIII gains a spot at EVO.

It wont if more people don’t play the game, take it seriously, and show up for tournaments.

I enjoyed the interview Osirun, thanks for having me!

New podcast with Xiang will be pushed back a few days.

EDIT: The episode will be ready Monday, December 20th.

PowerUp Episode #45 is here!

Xiang talks about the VGF rating system he has founded and how he plans to use it to increase the amount of competition and travel in the Midwest. Listen and come to your own conclusions about what the VGF means for the competitive community. Xiang is also open to questions, so if you have any make sure to swing by the VGF website and send him an email.

Thanks for having us on again Nathan!

No problem Brent! You and Jason are always cool and your opinions deserve to be out there. Cbus Bar Battles is a series for the Midwest to be proud of.

PowerUp Episode #46 is here!

The creator of Dream Cancel, nilcam, talks about the site’s origins as a KOF community space and information resource and where he wants to take it into the future. He also talks about SNK Playmore and KOFXIII, along with a lot of other gaming goodness.

PowerUp Episode #47 is here!

DeadlyRaveNeo from Atlanta, Georgia talks to me about KOF/SNK, some fighting game history, and his views on the community. I always enjoy having guests who aren’t afraid to share their opinions, so widen your gaze with this episode!

Very good prodcast DeadlyRaveNeo. Glad to see PowerUp is gaining some interest from other states outside of the midwest.

And I need to mention that Minnesota is extremely active in SNK/KOF games. Has the strongest players in the Midwest.
