PowerUp 2011 - EVO 2011 Tournament Season Qualifier - Cincinnati, OH - April 29-May 1

you kinda thirsty…but no…most likely its Gonna either be PR Balrog or Flash

This will be my first time traveling to a tourney. What’s the best time I should be looking at for my flight to arrive? I’m new to all this, so please pardon the noob question.

@itwasfunny: I’m going on the assumption that you will be attending the event for all three days, from 2pm door opening on Friday, April 29 - Sunday, May 1. If that is the case, then I would suggest that you arrive from your flight on Thursday evening, April 28, check in at the LaQuinta (or wherever you plan on staying), rest up and come to Arcade Legacy on Friday.

Not a bad question at all. See you at the event! Please pre-register if you haven’t already : )

Ah, I see. Yes, staying all 3 days. Thanks for the response. See all you guys there.

PR Balrog is confirmed for attendance at PU2011! See how you stack up against the Final Round SSFIV champion.

Been Knew that lOl…Marn Said he was Coming as well

Looking sweet Nathan… and the Tekken out of town guests are coming along as well.

This calls for a song

Putting out another call for setup donations! The scheduling changes lowered the number of SSFIV/MvC3 copies we need, but we still need a good number of PS3s. Remember that not only do you get a venue discount, but you also get entered into the Donors’ Raffles on Saturday and Sunday.

We need:

15 PS3s
1 PS2
3 MvC3 (PS3)
1 BBCS (PS3)

And remember that anyone who donates a system must also have all current game updates / characters. This applies pretty much only to BBCS and MvC3. If you are currently listed for providing something, please let me know what specific DLC / updates you have. For example, “Hi Osirun. My PS3 is currently (at/not at) the latest version of MvC3 and (I have/don’t have) all downloadable and unlockable characters. I (do/do not) have all downloadable and unlockable BBCS characters.”

I can provide my silver PS2 Nathan.

Put me down.

Nathan - More than likely you can count on me for a PS3/MvC3/BBCS

Thank you, gentlemen! Your generosity is appreciated.

Also, the “PowerUp” group rate at the LaQuinta Inn Cincinnati North will be honored up until April 6th. After that you pay full price for your room, so get on it people!

If I have to miss Friday, what games am I missing?

Its the last thing I have to know before donating my SSFIV.

You can find the current game schedule at the bottom of the Event Details page. There is little chance the current schedule will change and it will be final on April 5.

i’ll money match anyone in WindJammers

Nathan: Spoke to Dave (aka Enter the Gecko) and he is willing to donate his PS3 with copies of MK and T6.

That’s great, Phil! We’ll slowly chip away at the number of PS3s still needed : )

@MiniMaww: Ask Justin to MM you in that! I’m sure he’s probably played it before. That would be hype as hell XD

EDIT: For the donations -

DR4GO: On staff + PS2 = you’re good
X Fact0r: PS3 + MvC3 + BBCS = $5 venue discount
Enter the Gecko: PS3 + MK9 + T6 = $5 venue discount

Would it be bothersome to ask for some printable flyers?

I’d like to hand them out to the fighting game heads at my school so they can watch the stream.

That is no bother at all! And I thank you very much for doing that for the event : )

Here you can find the full resolution flyer for all your promotional needs.

I’ll have copies of tekken 6 and mk9 if you need them too… you didn’t list them on the post.

Bring what you can and if we need it you’ll be a great help, but if I didn’t list them it’s because we’ve already got them covered ; )

Game copies don’t net you extra discounts unless it’s a copy of MvC3. The offer for only donating a copy of MvC3 (PS3) and getting a $3 discount still stands even though our needed amount of copies went down.
