PowerUp 2010 / Raging Storm: Ohio, Cincinnati, OH May 28-30 RESULTS

Thought I would post to say thanks for the games to everyone I played. Also thanks to DigimonEmperor for hosting raging storm at powereup( I think he’s the guy who hosted it ). Thanks to Jesse for having it at Arcade Legends and thanks to the guys who had 98 um on the stream( that shit was hype ).

Dark Geese I don’t think it’s shit talking if what anyone said, if they said it, is factual information. Another thing, if you ever came to any of these events or played us on the internet then no one would say shit and then people would actually respect you. You always say shit like “I’m busy”, or “I have shit to do” like you’re a fucking celebrity. Hell it’s not even that we disrespect, it’s just you always have some excuse and no one can take you seriously.

@Actionhank: Ah! Thanks for 3S results : )

No it’s not, it’s just dragging it on if it doesn’t need be is pointless. But if you want I will point out the time on the video just for you. Plus now we are already talking about it as something that was said so to me it’s not that big of a deal. I just wanted to get to the bottom of it that’s all.

Necronimon- I have been doing this for 5 years. I’ve put my time in bro. So like I say I am working SMARTER not harder.

I am focusing my time on the bigger events like Mexico etc, if someone really wants to play me that bad they will come find me. Also I’ve called these people out and guess what? They haven’t accepted so like I say there is no reason why I can take them seriously.

As I say man I have put in 5 years into this and yet I still got people talking shit? Why am I gonna travel and make foolish business decisions and lose MONEY, when I have done that for 5 years straight.

Just because some of you want to play me that bad I need to spend $300 on a plane ticket and make a rash business decision that will cost me on a big tournament in the future?

No sir I will not do that. There are particular tournaments I will be at, like the one in Minnesota as I have said, if you want to play me you can play me there, or we can come up with a way where I can help pay your flight to just come play against me for fun I’m fine with that, but I am not going to make a rash business decision simply because someone wants to play me, they are going to make it worth my time or economically feasible.

As I say work smarter NOT HARDER, if these people really wanna play me trust me I will be glad to make it happen.

Plus most of these people talking smack haven’t even proven themselves.

Also yes I am busy, as I say I am focusing on the BIG EVENTS, the international tournaments, while I have other employees focus on other things, so I am as busy as I say. I have a year round schedule, and I cannot be at every event simply due to overhead, if you do not understand that you do not understand BUSINESS.

See the two events I have at the bottom in my sig? Does that look like I ain’t busy to you??? You tell me!!!

DandyJ vs. DG, GGPO first to 10

You won’t play me because you don’t want to lose your pride and all that shit, but what about Dandy on GGPO?

Your welcome. Honestly the only thing I’d ask if you work on doing this again next year is be open to some more input from others in your planning. Take what happened this year and make PowerUp2011 even better.

Sorry, Dark Geese, I didn’t realize you are so busy with important things, like hosting big events in Holiday Inn for example, to answer my little silly question.

Edit: Yet you find time posting and editing on this forum. Hrmm…

Does anything you ever post really go anywhere? Not really sure what you’re babbling about but please stick to your word and drop it, and stop posting in the thread. It’s really shitty to bring this up in a results thread for a tournament you didn’t go to. PM Dandy and talk about it there, although I really liked seeing his response to your post.

with that said:

Jesse: Thanks for hosting everything for the past year at Arcade Legends, and thank you for listening to our suggestions/requests and always accommodating. You’re a staple in our community and I will support you as much as I can, always. I can’t wait to see the new place and I also can’t wait for the next tournament there.

Thanks to Nathan and Webster for running the show. PowerUp 2010 and Raging Storm: Ohio had its speed bumps but it was a great first semi-big tournament and one of the most fun i’ve ever been to.

Frank: Thank you for helping run the Super brackets. Things didn’t go perfectly and we were pressed for time, but you did great and I feel that it ran smoothly for the most part and I don’t think it would have gone as well as it did if you weren’t helping. Despite all that, it certainly went quicker than some of the tournaments i’ve been to.

Brent: Thanks for running the stream, it looked like it was going well. Midwest Arc!

Quentin: Thanks for helping call out matches and find stations for them. Talk about stressful!

Lastly, thanks to everyone for coming out to this tournament. I hope you had a good time, and I hope you come back for the next one.

Feel free to provide input whenever you like, sir. Even as early as right now.

I’m simply proposing an idea here, so if this sounds crazy I suppose you can disregard it. I mean, I know I’m not part of this whole “Dark Geese this, Dark Geese that” crap, but honestly…isn’t this something that could be facilitated in the privacy of a wait for it private message? This is sort of supposed to be a results/shout-outs thread for a tourney, and yet somehow we’re already on page 2 with 75% of the content being about this damn lovers’ tiff you all seem to be having. I don’t mean any disrespct to anyone, but all the fun that was had over the weekend is suddenly being eclipsed by the pissing and whining of a few. Settle it elsewhere, ladies…geez. lol

Personally, I had a blast this weekend. I got to sit and practice TVC all weekend with some really cool folks, so thanks for all that contributed to my good time (Keits, Xian, Neon Geon, etc.). Keith, thanks again for letting us crash at your place, man. You’re more than welcome to down in Champaign anytime you want – just hit me up.

ActionHank: stick with TVC. I think the more you play the more fun you’ll find that you have. Find yourself someone to practice with, and you should have no problem learning the game quickly. I look forward to seeing what you’ve come up with at the next big TVC event!

I was just about to say, if anyone wants to carry on this conversation elsewhere with me I am only a PM away, otherwise I am already onto other things, like let’s see- I do have a tournament I need to be preparing for in like 2 weeks and a Japanese player I need to take care of.

Peace,

-DG

Zach/Frank: Yeah zach no problem and thanks for helping out with the tourney and stuff. Glad you were helping me help you guys keep everything going.

Brent: From the people I told to watch the stream they said they loved it when it was me and you commentating lol… I was told the quality was good and everything was pretty smooth overall.

-good shit MI for beasting all over SSF4!
-good shit darkgeese for being a retard!
pz

PU10 was fun. Thanks to those who ran it. Good times, good seeing some heads out there. It can only get better.

Had fun in the Marvel tournament, except having to use DC pad, still got 3rd. Great stuff for Derrick winning the game, especially considering we had to use DC pad, and have ZERO people willing to play.

Frank: We will defintely do the MM again on emulation. It looks like with YOU around, I can’t rest on my laurels from how good I was umpteen years ago in those games. Now if only there was a way to pull anyone away from SSFIV to get some real, current, practice.

Thanks for letting me clown on the stream Brent.

Nathan- Great tourney, it was obvious you put a lot of work into getting this up. I would show up again in a heartbeat. I hope you throw another event soon.

Dayton Crew- As always, let’s fight like gentleman. Josiah still got it. Adam, great 3s performance. Carter, nice SSF4 ibuki man. Jason, the most regal of gentleman.

Team IN- It great being on the team with you guys.

Puff- Most exciting Gouken ever.

Humbag- Good job winning 3s.

Jessie- Best arcade operator ever.

Ghaleon- I notice I instantly improve some in 3s whenever I play you. You would love Denjin arcade. It’s a 3s paradise.

Rakae- GG’s, I’m thinking of picking up Seth.

Zach- Your Abel looked fierce in that team event.

Face- Good casuals. Til next time.

Brent- Hilarious commentary. Thanks for making that gouken mirror match happen. A vacuum in space was created and planet Gouken came into existence.

Mike- I’m gonna give TvC another shot. Good seein ya man.

Quentin- The hypest as always. You and Indy are like twins, I never see you guys unexcited about anything.

I had alot of fun. Singles and 3v3 teams were great. Plenty of setups, good stream, ran smoothy, etc.

However, at the end of the day we probably shouldn’t have added a 6th team, just didn’t have time. The time it took for the 6th team to play we probably could have gotten all the matches finished.
But that’s the only thing, everything else was perfect. I did get super hot in there at one point though, lol. My friend from Naptown looked like he was about to pass out.

I had a community Agetec w/ sanwa everyone was using if you guys needed a stick, although I know Derrik never plays stick anyway. GS Derrik on Marvel, man.

Tourney was good times, good seeing everybody. Sorry we didn’t have more time to decide the true winner in the SF2 team tourney (3-way tie) – maybe we can get everyone in Cleveland to run it back? Jesse/Nathan thanks so much for running this. I hope Legends did really well on this and it helps the rebirth big-time! GS to Frank for stepping up like a dude who really cares about the community for running SSFIV.

I dunno WTF this Dark Geese nonsense is, but I know this thread isn’t the place for it. Also, I started playing KOF three weeks ago because my friend Linwood (4th gate) from Cleveland got me on to it – him being a really cool person and not a complete retard is part of why I even tried it. Also Dandy J’s tutorial is like the most useful thing on the Internet for KOF as well. For a game that has like 30 players across the country I don’t get the point of bitching and shittalking about nothing. UMK3 is about the same situation, but as I learned from ECT2 and SB4, the guys who actually travel to play it and meet up are all awesome and get along great in support of their game.

Also thanks to everyone who plays something besides SSFIV.

SF2 guys – great matches guys. Eric, let’s play online and I hope you can make it to Cleveland. Brent, lol it was nice to get a win off of you when $$ was on the line but I don’t feel like that was remotely your best. Hopefully we can play again soon when you’re at max health? Let’s get it going online at least.

Harmon/John/Linwood – you already know. Car rides are always gdlk. Sawada for MVC3 right?

I’ll do my shoutouts later,** but know this…**

DarkGeese, Emil - If you post in this thread again about your stupid fucking retard bullshit internet drama queen rage battle, I will send an infraction your way. This thread isnt about your meaningless rivalry with eachother or with Dandy J (who was actually AT this tournament) or with anyone. People talk shit. Get the fuck over it already. Its fucking 2010 and this shit is still going. FUCK.

(Webster all that cursing was for you. )

just curious Osirun, how were you able to provide so much bonus money!!! on your first tourney? that’s nuts…!
