PowerUp 2010 and Raging Storm: Ohio - Cincinnati, OH - May 28-30

Well, wait, I just noticed something.

Tournament is in May, but Super Street Fighter is out by then.
I think you might want to do some revisions, unless that’s a place holder.

Anyways, did some quick work for you.

Im thinking of coming to this, but please if you plan to use the projector at Arcade Legends, make it a clone display of a tv that doesnt lag. I didnt get to try the LCDs in the back room, so I cannot comment on those, but I suggest you make sure all your existing Arcade Legend’s displays are zero lag or commit to not using them. Also, be aware the Chicago’s famous Midwest Championships may be very close to your date. They are usually mid June.

dibs on being in teh keits car. well after anna of course…

i’ll do my best to make it out and i’m sure some of the other indianapolis players will be coming too. 3S side tourney?

All displays will be lag free. No worries. You are the only person who has complained about the big screen having lag. I’ve at least 20 of our regular tournament goers test it and tell me they have no lag problems. Even a few who are very picky about it.

I hope you have this under control Nathan. This is a lot to run, but I’m confident you have the time/space to manage this. If you need an additional staff help, I wouldn’t mind volunteering.

Chyeah

::EDIT:: Also, I’ll help supply match recording equipment if the stream doesn’t work out. If I can get access to HDMI capture (which I think I can actually) by that time, I’ll direct feed record the finals of all the games.

All fingers crossed for the stream to work!!!

Without an official release date, we simply can’t say that it’s going to be SSFIV. If it releases before the tournament, we will run it, but it’d be silly to promise Super when we’re not yet sure if it’ll really be out by the end of May.

And thanks for all the avatar work! I also changed my avatar detail blurb to 2010, lol. Was I living in the past? Who knows? :stuck_out_tongue:

@Digimonemporer: I’ll definitely be posting on SB and AiB soon, as well as Dustloop and TZ. The interest I’m already getting is very reassuring just from SRK!

And I may consider going back and making some more avatars. I can’t believe I forgot Cammy! At least I got all the T6 characters, though, lol.

@jesu: 3S side tourney is definitely one that I’m considering. Once I know more about what AL may do about a 3S cab, and who would like to run the side tourney, then it’ll be added to the list.

@The Real KT: Thanks Kam, always glad to have your help. We definitely need to see if we can get a test stream up at AL for one of the ranbats. Either myself or Zach will contact you soon about that.

What is this saying? That you are not using the projector unless its a clone display? Or that it does not lag?

“Very little lag” and “no lag” are very different things. Have you done the rockband 2 test on it?

I played Guitar Hero and Rockband on the projector and it worked out fine. No lag at all. Both tv’s in the back are lag free as well.

We will most likely have it hooked up to display a no lag monitor so that people can watch the bigger matches throughout the weekend. I was just saying that everyone seems to enjoy playing on it and I’ve had no complaints about the lag from anyone but you. I’m sure there is some tiny lag. It seems nearly impossible that there is none at all. The big TVs in the back definitely have a very small amount of lag but we rarely use those for tournaments. Although we did have the Tekken 6 ranbats on those tonight and everyone said absolutely no lag so I really don’t know what to think. We will have all CRTs and no lag monitors for this tournament regardless. I don’t want to have to worry about having issues with uncertainty.

I’ve done the RB test a few times and have gotten results of no lag and some of very little. It almost seems like it varies from time to time but it’s always a very small number.

Dayum, hype spread fast. SF4 teams, OCV’s baby, bet it.

Good idea to post this up early. More time for people to plan on attending and for word to spread. Also avatar pack. Bonus!

Awesome. I will be at this tournament.
I hope I’m not still ass in Tekken at that point.

Good deal.

I’m just cautious because I’ve been to events where they were forcing people to play on laggy displays and it feels like a waste of time to travel out and get an online experience.

Tournament sounds pretty legit to me. We need a good tourney like this to train for during the spring. I can’t predict if I have to work that weekend or not, so I can’t commit to going yet. I also hope I get to play some Melty Blood down there. It’s the C-bus’s secret best game right now, well, besides Super Mario All-Stars Battle Game and Samurai Kirby. I’d play Brawl, but I hate the rules the Smash community made up for it. What ever happened to All-Brawl, anyway?

If Capcom fails to deliver by that late, then there’s going to be shitstorms, I can assure you that, and for a second I thought we were going to have to take Josh Queen’s Tardis out back a year to play, which would have been cool. I noticed you have not made the Smash Avatars, if I’m feeling productive today, I might do them, might.

The only thing that actually concerns me is if people from Chi-town / Nap-town / C-bus / Cinci / Kentucky / Other places are coming, is Arcade Legends going to be big enough to hold it? I mean the size and all is great, but you’re going to have to do a little moving around when it comes to dead line to get the size right, unless AL happens to move to a location or somehow manages to invade the liquor store next door or something.

All Brawl was played at SB4, kind of as a for-fun-in-honor-of-me thing. They basically forced me to enter and the last time I played was SB3, 1 year prior. I couldnt even remember how to shield and I got 5th I think about of like 20ish people.

Thanks for remembering that the game works on its own, though. :lovin:

Don’t worry, we’ve got that covered.

Usually when a bunch of gamers gather, the stink likes to come as well. I hope that won’t be a problem. Ha Jesse you should have some community deodorant…or a hose.
