i liked Wang Tang when me and my 3 other friends would play nothing but Power Stone 2, cause he reminded me of a super saiyan. But once we all got really good, i mained Falcon cause he felt so solid… I know Ayane was amazing on there too.
I certainly remember playing this game a LOT on the DC version a decade+ ago. Hardly had 1 or two friends to play it with, so I mostly played Single Player. Its actually a fairly viable candidate for competitive fight gaming! I always enjoy those fighting games where basic movements gave you a lot of free reign (you can run around and completely control the trajectory of your jump a la typical platformers).
Nobody plays it anymore though.
Nah’ it’s just an amazing party game and that’s all, it’s not even really arguable. I always had 4 people to play it with, eventually we got really good and learned the tiers and all that stuff… If you turned off items and lets say you could disable vehicles, tanks, things that are part of the level, ect, there would literally be nothing fun to watch for the viewers… Attack options are limited is a BIG one… and if they turned of gems for competitive play, why bother?
Legendary party game… just not close to tournament viable… Even PS all stars is more tournament viable despite the fact that Powerstone 2 is 100x better. Not enough elements or deep enough meta game to keep people playing.
I’d have to disagree. There are already videos of a Power Stone 1 and 2 tournament at Capcom Cup a several years back. Even though Power Stone 2 stripped away lots of options that Power Stone 1 had, if we were to turn off items etc, it would still be fun to watch. Or I should say, people who like watching footsies action and things of that nature would like to watch 1v1 matches in Power Stone 2. Power Stone 2 has an evasion mechanic that lets you dodge and counter attacks. I find it very engaging to watch high-level PS2 play. There’s even juggling combos that certain characters can do for crying out loud lol. I can’t lie that it would be boring for some, so power stones should be turned on. It is a staple for the series just like Supers are for SF. Honestly, I think this video speaks for itself when I say 1v1 high-level matches are enjoyable. That last juggle was epic as hell.
I can’t stand watching or playing Power Stone 2. How can a game be this slow?
