Probably the best dreamcast party game, the most underrated competitive game, overall amazing experience
I’m starting a video tutorial channel to up your game, check gfaqs for some stuff (its dead but im desperately trying to revive it)
There’s a preliminary tier list if you guys are interested:
No Transformation
S RANK: Jack(-1), Ryoma, Gunrock(+1) Rogue(+2) Gourmand(-1)
A RANK: Falcon(-1), Accel(-2), Galuda(+1), Mel, Ayame(+4), Julia(+1)
B RANK: Wang Tang(+1), Pete(+1), Pride(+1)
As you can see, noone is bad since the worst rank is B Rank, so everyone is pretty good.
Transformation Only
S RANK: Ayame, Rogue(+1), Gunrock, Julia
A RANK; Falcon, Mel(-2), Ryoma, Pete
B RANK: Wang Tang, Pride(+1), Gourmand
C RANK: Galuda, Accel(+2)
D RANK: Jack(-1)
Uh…Smash 64 came out 01/1999 and Power Stone 1 in 02/1999.
Also, I have a hard time playing this game without 4 people causing disturbingly large amounts of chaos with guns and hammers and megaphones and gem collecting. Which takes some of the “competitive” feel out of it, but damn is it fun.
I love this game. Lol, it’s the only reason I have kept my Dreamcast and for awhile constantly looking for brand new or like new working condition controllers. I have 4 controllers now just so I can break it out for group play when need be. Unfortunately not everyone shares the same love I have for it lol.
I wish they did an XLive or PSN version with net play, but I don’t think it’s going to happen. When Capcom-Unity had that suggestion box with the vote up feature, I was all over trying to push for a new Power Stone or just a port.
i always thought he had awesome damage output in either form. given his pseudo double jump and the ability to put him self in a tech roll off a wall i thought were important factors as well. those make up for his slow run speed imo. health and throw range are up there too.
i actually thought he was one of the broken tiered characters.
